Bangor Calling! Pink Tutu Sparkles is here! (Blog Post #1661)

Oh my darlings, what a day it has been! My dear, gorgeous, amazing pink tutus and I have just arrived in the enchanting town of Bangor, North Wales, and let me tell you, I'm positively sparkling with excitement. This is the sixth stop on my "Tutu Trek" across the UK, and let me tell you, it’s a whirlwind of sequins and tulle. I truly believe in bringing a bit of pink sparkle to every corner of our fair island, don’t you?

The journey here was a proper adventure. My usual travel method involves the beautiful train network, but alas, there was no direct route. So, my love for tutus intertwined with a little equestrian fancy. Can you imagine me, Pink Tutu Sparkles, galloping on horseback across the Welsh countryside? I bet you can see me, all pink and fluttering, with the wind whipping through my feather boa, chasing a glorious sunset. * * * Just imagine it, darling! * * *

Now, before you ask, yes, my tutu does get rather dusty on my horseback jaunts. It is a bit of a challenge sometimes. But I have found that a good dusting and a spot of lavender scent work wonders.

As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by the most beautiful, welcoming people. They just ooze charm and enthusiasm here, and I haven't even put on my fabulous drag show yet. But don't you worry, it's gonna be an absolute corker. Tonight's performance is at the "Twinkle Toes Theatre" which is rather appropriately named. And I’m already preparing for a fantastic dance party afterwards. Imagine Pink Tutu Sparkles and the lovely residents of Bangor sharing a glass of fizz, dancing beneath the disco ball, oh my, what a vision of sheer joy!

I had some time for a bit of sightseeing today. Bangor is such a delight. I popped into this fabulous little boutique, you see, that's stuffed full of exquisite scarves and gorgeous necklaces. Honestly, my pink sparkle collection just got an upgrade, Darling, you must see these treasures. I got myself a brand new boa and some shimmering hair extensions. It will be absolutely fabulous tonight.

Just as I’m finishing this blog post, I am whisked away by the beautiful Miss Lily who runs a most charming cafe, “The Tutu Cafe.” Apparently, it is named after me, well, sort of! They just love the colour pink and my beautiful tutus. The Cafe is quite the talking point, don’t you think?

Oh, my lovelies, don't think for a second that I forget to tell you about my beautiful Pink Tutu look. Today, I have chosen a classic ballerina tutu. It's an ivory, full length ballerina, a beautiful soft shade with delicate touches of iridescent glitter around the edges. You see, you have to be dramatic but keep the elegance of a classical tutu, don't you? It just sets the stage for an utterly spectacular and whimsical dance!

My outfit will, of course, be absolutely gorgeous and full of pink delight, all topped off with a beautiful tiara - after all, we do want a touch of fairy tale romance in our lives, do we not? I’ll be showcasing this look, and my usual show-stopping performance tonight.

But it's not just about the dazzling performance for me, it’s the interaction. The lovely, enchanted ladies I met during the day told me about the Bangor ballet class they're having. I know my fellow drag queens understand. Nothing quite compares to the joy of putting on those graceful tights and swirling around, is there? I’ll definitely be joining them this week!

I know it’s a bit late, darlings, but as the sun dips below the horizon and Bangor takes on an enchanting, magical, fairy light glow, I must tell you a little about my scientific alter ego. I’m Alex. In a life of delightful contradictions, I find myself spending my days surrounded by chemicals, fabrics, and formulas. You know, working with those boring scientists who all wear sensible shoes and muted tones. A true juxtaposition of sorts, isn't it? It's my way of adding a touch of color to even the most serious environments. After all, the lab can be just as fun with a pink tutu tucked in a drawer. I like to call it my scientific secret. I even took my pink tutu to one lab social – it certainly made a splash, darling. Now the scientists even bring their significant others and it’s like a big drag ball every month!

In all seriousness, it truly does keep me grounded. Being able to blend into the science world, a very, shall we say, "un-pink" environment and my crazy adventures as Pink Tutu Sparkles. And yes, sometimes they do meet in the most unexpected ways.

Back to my adventure here in Bangor! You have no idea the stories and tales of beauty, charm and sheer glamour, but more about that tomorrow. For now, it is time to slip into that dazzling tutu, fluff up that glorious boa, and dazzle everyone in Bangor with a whirlwind of sparkling, joyful, dance floor fun. Until tomorrow my dear, precious loves… remember to stay fabulous!
