Bulwell, Baby! TutuQueen Takes On The North! 💖✨

Blog Post #1774

Hello my gorgeous darlings, and welcome back to the magical world of Pink Tutu Sparkles!

Today's blog is all about my fabulous trip to Bulwell, a little gem nestled in the heart of Nottinghamshire.

As you know, I’m a girl who loves to travel. Whether it's hopping on a train, or riding a magnificent steed (well, maybe a little bit more "hobby horse" than "magnificent steed" - but still!) there's no better feeling than exploring new places.

This time, my travels led me to the bustling town of Bulwell, and oh, it did not disappoint!

Pink Power: Bringing Bulwell To Its Knees!

I'm not going to lie, I arrived in Bulwell feeling like a real queen on a mission. My dazzling pink tutu, with its layer upon layer of tulle and its little sparkley sequin detail, was absolutely ready to rock the town. The first thing I did, after giving a little twirl and wink to the station platform, was to find myself a decent tea shop for a spot of afternoon tea. Let’s be real, a queen’s gotta eat! The cake, thankfully, was a real treat (lemon meringue, my personal favourite), and the pot of tea warmed me up perfectly after my little adventure to Bulwell!

Then it was time to unleash my fabulous self onto the town. I hit the high street, a real little treasure trove of independent shops and boutiques. Imagine my delight when I discovered a little hidden gem of a costume shop tucked away down a side street. My pink tutu, naturally, made quite the entrance, and the owner - a wonderful woman with a bright smile and a mischievous twinkle in her eye - gave me a huge hug! I ended up purchasing a whole selection of pink feathered boas, some amazing rainbow-coloured hair pieces, and even a glittery pink crown to add to my already stellar collection. My goodness, it was almost too much to handle, but you know what, in life, sometimes you just gotta say, “more glitter, please!”

Tutu Travels: Getting That Culture Fix

No trip is complete without a little bit of culture, and Bulwell definitely delivered on that front. I discovered a beautiful, ancient church hidden away in a leafy courtyard. It’s a real little haven of peace, full of calming light and stained glass. It was truly stunning.

After my culture fix, I headed back to the town square. A fabulous local group were performing a flash mob in the centre, and I could resist joining in! I grabbed the pink tutu that was ready in my backpack, took a deep breath and joined the merrymakers, twirling and spinning in that glorious shade of pink that has always been my signature style! The people in Bulwell were so welcoming and full of joy – I could feel the love! They cheered, they clapped, they even started shouting out “Go, Pink Tutu Queen!” My heart was brimming with joy – nothing makes my little TutuQueen heart happier than to spread some pink love to a town that feels welcoming and exciting!

Bringing Back The Glamour

I didn’t just spread a little love and glamour while I was in Bulwell, I was also gathering inspiration for a future tutu masterpiece.

Bulwell has an incredibly rich history, a proud working class heritage, and its streets are overflowing with industrial architecture. The contrast of a brightly coloured tutu against the imposing greys and browns of the buildings… my imagination started ticking over, and you know what? Expect to see the result in my upcoming shows! You've been warned, it's gonna be glamorous and dramatic in equal measure!

More Adventures To Come!

This trip to Bulwell has definitely gone down as a favourite. But don’t worry darlings, this is just the start of my journey to take my pink tutu to all four corners of the globe (or, well, the corners of the UK for now! One step at a time!).

Stay tuned to Pink Tutu.com, my gorgeous darlings, for more adventures, more fashion, and more of that all-important, all-conquering pinkness!

I love you, my little tutus! Remember:

*The world is a better place with more pink tutus! *
