Consett Calling! Pink Tutu Sparkles' #1794 Blog Post

Hello lovelies! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another fabulous blog post! I hope this finds you all sparkling brighter than a diamond!

Today, I'm buzzing because I'm off on a trip to the wonderful town of Consett! Now, I've heard so many fabulous things about Consett, especially its lovely people, and I can't wait to share some of its charm with all of you.

My journey is a little special today, though, because I'm taking the train! Yes, the iconic, the fabulous, the utterly majestic train! Honestly, there's nothing more satisfying than a nice cuppa and a good book on the train journey to somewhere exciting! Speaking of exciting, have I mentioned that my next big act is in Consett? Yes! That's right, folks, I'm bringing the glitter and the sparkle to the lovely folk of Consett! It's a secret location, but I can tell you, it's going to be spectacular! I'm hoping to wear my new sequined tutu - I just love it, it's like a swirling constellation of light!

I'm especially excited to perform in Consett, as it's actually one of the first places where my love for pink tutus blossomed, which I have to tell you all about. Let's take a trip back to my time as a young, enthusiastic science student at the university! One fateful evening, our uni was hosting a fundraiser for a local children's charity, and naturally, I was up for trying anything! That night, for a laugh, I popped into the costume department to get dressed up! I had no idea this was going to be the start of everything.

As I browsed the shelves, I was overwhelmed! Everything was so vibrant, but nothing was quite striking enough, except for this pink tutu. Yes, the very first pink tutu that set my soul ablaze. Now, let me tell you, it wasn't your typical ballerina's tutu! No, this one had feathers! Feathers of all kinds, in shades of pink and gold that literally screamed "Look at me, I'm fantastic!" I slipped it on, and oh my goodness! My entire perspective shifted! This feeling of being utterly unique, so utterly myself! And that was when Pink Tutu Sparkles was born.

I never thought being a scientist by day, and a drag queen by night would be possible! My life had been so set. But wearing that pink tutu gave me a feeling of freedom, of defying expectations, of just…shining. And the best thing? I felt like everyone else was beaming as much as I was!

Speaking of gleaming, this outfit! Oh darling, let me tell you about it. The bodice is a blush pink, all silk and satin, with little sparkles woven in for good measure! It clings to my figure and accentuates my curves, and I’m feeling pretty fabulous tonight, which is good news because I’m stopping for a ballet class on the way to Consett. I’m trying to find an instructor who’s been doing ballet since she was young – and it turns out, it's my cousin who is! I have to show you a pic when I get the chance!

Anyway, the point is I think I need to create a whole ballet tutu collection. And perhaps an evening gown collection, too. And maybe even some fabulous frocks for our daytime looks? What do you think? If anyone’s in the area, give me a wave! I'd love to see you!

Right, I need to go get a fresh coffee, and give myself another spritz of sparkle before we make our entrance. Catch you on the flip side!

Pink Tutu Sparkles XOXO
