Helloooo, darlings! It’s your favourite Pink Tutu queen here, back with another glamorous post, fresh from my travels! 💅 Today’s adventure took me to the charming town of Upminster, Essex, and let me tell you, it was a truly dazzling day! 💖
As you all know, a girl can't resist a trip by train when a sparkly performance is on the horizon. This time, it was a special Christmas fundraiser at a lovely local theatre, the kind that brings back memories of childhood panto and festive cheer. 🎄 And I’m not just here for the twinkly lights, dearies. It’s the opportunity to spread the joy of pink tutus, of course! 🤩
Now, my darling Upminster, I must say, you surprised me. I envisioned a quaint little town, charming, yes, but perhaps a tad traditional. But oh, how wrong I was! It was positively brimming with vibrancy! The shops, the cafes, the pubs... everything radiated an infectiously cheerful energy that reminded me of my beloved Derbyshire. 🏡
The first order of the day? A proper British pub lunch, naturally! I found myself a quaint little spot with a crackling fire and a menu packed with all the classic comforts: hearty pies, fluffy mash, and the most decadent gravy I've tasted in ages. My sweet tooth couldn’t resist a slice of apple crumble with a dollop of cream. Sigh, absolute heaven! 😌
Feeling energized and with my belly happily full, it was time for some pre-show shopping! I found a little vintage store stuffed to the brim with treasures. The shopkeeper, a delightful woman with a twinkle in her eye, had a wardrobe of dreams – silks, feathers, and even a magnificent hat that would have made Dolly Parton envious! 🤩 Sadly, my budget wouldn't allow for the whole lot, but I did snaffle up a gorgeous, feather boa in a shocking shade of magenta – it’ll be perfect for my next performance! 💋
The theatre was small but bursting with life. As I put on my sparkling pink tutu and stepped onto the stage, the excitement in the air was palpable. The energy was contagious! There were so many lovely families and happy faces in the audience. They loved my show - my tumbling, twirling and sparkly choreographed routine! And my new feather boa really was the perfect finishing touch, dazzling everyone in the audience! ✨
Even more delightful were the many little girls dressed up in tutus themselves, watching with wide-eyed wonder as I spun and pranced on stage. It really warmed my heart, knowing that I was helping to inspire a new generation of pink tutu enthusiasts! 💕
As I left the theatre, after the encore performance, there was a young boy, maybe 6 years old, who shyly asked if he could hug my boa. And let me tell you, that tiny, little hug melted my heart. 🥰
But the best part? Well, it wasn’t just about the performance itself. The feeling of bringing joy and excitement to people’s faces, reminding them of the power of glitter, rainbows and sparkly joy – it’s truly why I love my job so much! 🌟
Now, darlings, let's talk tutus. My heart still flutters every time I see a tutu. There's just something about those layers of tulle and their ability to transform even the simplest outfit into something extraordinary. 💖
