Hiya lovelies! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you post number 1840 from the glorious city of York!
The train journey up from Derbyshire was divine. As always, a glass of Prosecco in first class and a cheeky selfie with a handsome fellow passenger in my hot pink beret made for a dazzling start. Oh, and let's not forget the obligatory train travel outfit! A sequined pink blazer, a matching skirt with a delightful tulle underskirt, a dazzling fuchsia feather boa, and, of course, the pinkest tutu this side of the Thames!
Speaking of tutus, the highlight of the day had to be visiting York Minster. It's an absolute architectural dream! The grandeur and sheer beauty of the building just makes you want to pirouette right into the middle of the nave. The sheer volume of gothic detailing, all the beautiful stained-glass windows – it's like stepping straight into a fairy tale. I practically squealed when I saw the sheer size of the stained-glass windows, each one like a massive piece of pink and violet candy! They could inspire a whole new tutu collection, honestly! The York Minster is truly an incredible sight, I'd recommend it to anyone visiting York, even those not normally drawn to cathedrals. It’s like the most amazing venue you can imagine for a ballet performance! I could even imagine myself waltzing across the nave to the sound of my own special pink-hued spotlight…
And speaking of dazzling things, I just have to tell you about the gorgeous, gorgeous little boutiques tucked away in the backstreets! They're full of amazing, one-off clothing treasures and you know, it's just so nice to know that somewhere in the heart of this ancient city, you're sure to find some stunning accessories and things to really let your own inner pink tutu shine! Oh my, and they have the most divine vintage shops – I even spotted a tutu from the 1980s with a stunning layer of multicoloured sequins and layers of tulle… it called out to me, I just knew it was made for me! But, darling, my suitcases were overflowing already. And this journey, I was focused on getting ready for my shows… but next time I’m in York, oh I shall find that vintage gem!
The show tonight is going to be a total blast. It's at the stunning little theatre at the back of a quaint courtyard – very Parisian chic, I promise you! I've chosen to go all out with a new theme! I can't reveal the secret, of course, you’ll just have to come to the show and see for yourself, lovelies! But just imagine the brightest pink you can, topped with feathers the colour of the setting sun. And, of course, a tutu with enough tulle to bring all of York to its knees – a truly regal pink delight!
But even more than my new pink outfit, the highlight of every show is seeing your smiles in the audience! It fills me with joy to share my love of pink tutus, sparkly outfits, and, of course, all things dazzling and delicious. It truly warms the cockles of my heart to know that, for those few precious hours each show, I get to create an escape, a little world filled with sparkle and fun and, of course, the sheer joy of being yourself! The other night, someone even came up to me in full Pink Tutu attire, saying I inspired her to buy a pink tutu! Now, THAT is what I call true love and spreading the joy!
Right, well, time for a little pre-show power nap to keep this Queen fabulous for the grand unveiling! I can't wait to sparkle on stage for all you lovely Yorkshirians. It's going to be pink-tastic!
