Worcester, Wonderful Worcester! (Post #1860)

Oh my darlings! I've just had the most amazing trip to Worcester, a city overflowing with history, charm, and oh yes, of course, stunning venues! It's been a whirlwind of twirls, glitz, and glamour – the kind of adventure only a Pink Tutu Sparkles can handle!

Remember last month, I mentioned I had booked a couple of shows in Worcestershire – well, they went down a storm! And guess what? It just wouldn't be a proper Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without a little dose of history and culture. I’m sure you're all itching to hear about it, so buckle up, darling, as I tell you all about my trip, right from the moment I boarded the train to the time I packed up my suitcase in a hotel room with the most stunning view!

As always, let’s begin with my attire, because a Pink Tutu Sparkles is NEVER without her outfit! I opted for a custom-made bubblegum pink tulle tutu – because you know, you can't go to a historic town without a touch of fairytale magic. A delicate silk corset cinched in my waist, showcasing my best assets, and adorned with tiny pink roses to match my stunning hot pink wig with a dazzling sparkle that caught the sunlight. I finished it all off with some sparkly pink ballet flats, of course. Let's just say, I was a sight to behold as I strode through the Worcester streets, leaving a trail of pink sparkles in my wake!

Now, Worcester is a haven for ballet lovers like me! I was particularly charmed by the Swan Theatre, which felt straight out of a Jane Austen novel with its elegant Georgian architecture. I felt so graceful twirling outside, like a proper English ballerina – all grace, poise, and pink feathers, of course. You'd think the theatre would be quite stuffy, but it felt oh-so-welcoming – kind of like being at a grand ball in a magical world.

For a performance, though, it had to be the Hive. It's a modern, airy venue that reminded me of a beautiful, luminous beehive - with honeycomb-shaped windows. Inside, it was a whirlwind of energy, just as vibrant as the crowds that filled it! I felt my usual surge of excitement – performing in such an extraordinary space was exhilarating! It just had this magic to it that, honestly, was rather exhilarating! Oh, and the music? It was just pure delight! The sound system was spectacular, perfectly echoing the music and highlighting all the little pops and swishes of my tutu as I performed my signature moves.

I'll admit, after all the performance excitement, my tummy started rumbling for a truly fabulous meal. Worcester did not disappoint in this department! You know my motto – 'a good performance deserves a great feast'. I found the most exquisite Victorian tearoom with chandeliers and ornate mirrors, oh, and the food? Exquisite! Afternoon tea, of course, with dainty cakes and delicate pastries - perfectly mirroring the sweetness of my stage persona.

Now, my darlings, before we go on to my favourite part, I need to tell you about the Worcester Guildhall. The place practically dripped with history! It was so captivating, just looking at the architecture was like stepping back in time. Imagine this - stained glass windows with delicate floral patterns, vaulted ceilings that reached impossibly high, and enough historical charm to knock your socks off. This is where I found the most enchanting dance studios. As a girl, I dreamt of owning my own, and honestly, the one I found felt so wonderfully like coming home – even with my pink sparkly boots! And for my afternoon treat, a traditional cream tea. You’re not allowed to be in England without at least one cream tea, are you? I love them!

So now, my sweet darlings, you want to hear about my highlight? Well, I just had to try my luck at horse riding! Just a short hop outside the city centre was the most enchanting stable with horses so elegant they would've put royalty to shame. My heart did a little skip in my chest. It’s something I’d always wanted to do and this truly felt like a fairy tale adventure!

Honestly, this is how it was - a sunny afternoon, a beautifully trained chestnut horse, and me, Pink Tutu Sparkles, riding through the Worcester countryside with a feeling of pure, unadulterated joy. It was like gliding over the fields on a cloud, just the wind in my pink feather boa, the sun on my face, and the gentle sway of the horse's mane tickling my cheek! I felt like I could conquer the world, or at least, all the places in Worcestershire.

Honestly, the best part was my return trip to the station. Did I mention that I like train travel? It is so glamorous, don’t you think? It’s like travelling through a glamorous history movie. My journey back, with my suitcase bursting with memories and a pink feathered boa around my neck, left me feeling so incredibly happy.

Well, that’s my Worcestershire adventure! What’s coming up next? Let’s just say it involves mountains of glitter, sequins, a whole lot of dancing, and maybe a trip by horse.

I can't wait to tell you all about it! Stay tuned my lovelies, for more fabulous stories of the pinkest adventures.

Always wear pink, Always twirl, Pink Tutu Sparkles

(Oh, and did I mention, I did buy a few new tutus – for me, of course, because why shouldn't I!)

xx
