Hammersmith, Sweet Hammersmith! 🩰

Hello, darlings! It’s Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and oh, how I’ve been dreaming of this trip to London. I’m practically bouncing in my sparkly pink tutu (number 1,783, if you’re counting), it’s just SO exciting! 💖

This is my 1,861st post on the world-famous pink-tutu.com, by the way. If you're new here, I'm Pink Tutu Sparkles, your number-one drag queen (and occasional scientist) bringing you daily fabulousness, full of twirls and glitz, sprinkled with a whole lot of pink! 💕

But back to this trip, I'm in Hammersmith! Honestly, London just calls to my inner ballerina. It's the place to be, my darlings, for all things chic. From the stunning West End performances to the hidden-away vintage stores, I'm going to explore it all, wearing, of course, a delightful pink tutu (naturally, a different one than the one I mentioned earlier! 😄).

Speaking of tutus, remember when I mentioned I was going to learn to ride a horse for this trip? Well, I did! It took some convincing, of course, because as a seasoned drag queen, you know I need to be as glamorous as possible. Turns out horses are quite the trendsetters (the latest fashions, though, they could definitely use some tips on… well, everything). 🦄

But back to the exciting stuff! This morning, I hopped onto a rather grand train, you see. Nothing quite as fun as riding with a glamorous ensemble in the carriage - and this time I took my tutu game to the next level, darling, by choosing a feather boa to accessorize (oh, it’s a must for any fashionista, especially in a train station! Just ask the commuters; I got a whole chorus of “You go, girl!” Well, perhaps it wasn't exactly a chorus but it certainly made my journey magical!). 🤩

And then, I saw Hammersmith! Such an elegant and welcoming borough! So far, it’s even better than my childhood memories, which included that time I skipped a ballet class for a (now legendary) pie shop just across from the Tube station (I may have broken a few toes getting out of the queue to grab that pastry... well, it WAS raspberry custard).

Anyway, the show at Hammersmith Apollo is tonight! It’s called “Diamonds in the Rough”, featuring a bevy of incredibly talented queens, all with their unique sparkle and style. (It’s important to be diverse in our world, darlings - even in drag!) I’ve spent the afternoon researching every inch of Hammersmith’s theatre scene and, you know me, it all revolves around getting that perfect pink tutu (it’s got to be the perfect length, the right texture of tulle… oh, the pressure! ) And oh darling, the shopping!

There’s a fabulous little vintage shop called "Dressed to Impress," and you won't believe it, they actually had this magnificent pink tutu in the back. Sadly, a tiny little tear in the seam. 😪 But my inner scientist had a quick fix, a bit of delicate stitching, and now it’s good to go! A little secret, you see - I once earned a science degree while pursuing my passion for drag! You wouldn't believe how much science comes into making that perfect tutu! Fabrics, colors, the perfect combination of sequins… my darlings, it's a fine art!

Now, speaking of perfect combinations, let's chat about my outfits for tonight's performance! A delicate feather boa and a sassy pair of heels, all complimented by the absolute showstopper: a magnificent, fluffy, hot pink tutu. 💃 Oh, I do love a good challenge, my dears, especially a sartorial one.

But this isn’t about me, you see. This blog isn’t about how many tutus I’ve acquired in the last 5 years (although let's face it, my entire bedroom is a veritable tutu-topia). This blog, this passion project, is about getting every single person in the world to embrace the pink tutu. You might say it's a silly idea, a bit of a fantasy. But honestly, it’s an excellent goal for any fashion queen! And isn't it a bit boring, frankly, living in a world that isn’t full of color?

We are on a quest, my darlings, to bring sparkle and joy to the world one pink tutu at a time! 🌎 💗 So put on your tutu, find your confidence, and remember: We can make anything happen, one glittery step at a time! 👠

So keep checking in here, darlings, to see all about the latest fashion tips from your favourite drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles. There's a whole world of glitter waiting for you to explore! 🌟
