From Derbyshire to the Big Smoke: A Tutu's Tale
So, here I am, a true daughter of the Derbyshire countryside (born and bred in a tiny village nestled amongst rolling hills) living my absolute best life in a vibrant London suburb. Don’t be fooled, though, folks. While my science lab by day is dedicated to testing fabric with laser-sharp focus, my nights are all about a completely different kind of fabric… pink tutu fabric.
As you already know, dear readers, it all started at university. A scientific brain stuck in a pink tutu body (it happens to the best of us!). The day I tried on my first one for a university fundraiser, something clicked. My scientific world went "pop," like a champagne cork, and my creative world went "bang!" – fireworks galore! The whole room burst into pink sparkles as my destiny was decided. My love affair with tutus was official. And the rest, as they say, is tutu-licious history!
Pink Tutu Sparkles Makes her East Ham Debut
The excitement in East Ham has been simply electric! A packed venue (did someone say packed to the rafters?) , laughter filling the air, a couple of surprise cameos (don’t worry, darlings, you'll have to wait for the scoop on that!)... The night just wouldn't stop, not until the last pink sparkle had been tossed into the air!
The whole experience was so uplifting. My goal? As always, to fill the room with magic and make everyone leave with a huge smile. And let me tell you, it’s all about making you believe in a bit of sparkle, folks. A little bit of pink magic goes a long way!
Pink Power: East End Style
Before the big show, I, of course, had to do a little East End exploration! (How could I not? The history, the architecture, the vibe – just a fabulously pink palette for a Pink Tutu Sparkles escapade! ). A quick bite of the famous "Jellied Eel" was in order - (and no, darlings, it’s not quite as 'un-appetising' as the name suggests).
Later on, it was "all aboard!" the beautiful and ever-so-charming horse-drawn carriage for a magical trot around East Ham! With my pink tutu flowing in the gentle evening breeze and the sound of horses hooves clopping along the cobblestones – sheer perfection! My imagination went wild, and it felt like I had stepped right into a film!
Tutu Travel Tales
This trip, I embraced my inner Londoner and took the train. (Don’t get me wrong, my love affair with horses runs deep, but the train is simply divine for getting around). This is a love letter to the railways, dear readers.
There’s something about travelling by train that feels absolutely glamorous (I mean, even "First Class" isn't that lavish compared to my tutu!) – and with the views of the beautiful London scenery rolling past the windows as the train sped along... utter bliss! Every time, I feel like a movie star! (I even dabbed my lips with a shiny red lipstick for that extra je ne sais quoi).
The Magic of the Dance
In my travels to East Ham, I was graced with the opportunity to indulge in one of my absolute favorite things: the magic of ballet. My ballet class was hosted by the absolutely wonderful East Ham Academy, and my heart soared as I twirled, pirouetted, and unleashed my inner Swan Queen – well, maybe a little bit more like Swan Queen's sparkly, pink cousin, haha!
It wasn't just the class, though, dear readers. The highlight of the trip was a sensational ballet show! And the icing on the cake? They even had a Tutu Queen in the audience - (that's me, darlings!), ready to absorb all that beautiful movement, grace, and art. My inspiration levels soared, and I almost burst out into a twirl right there and then! (But good manners prevailed!)
Sparkling Pink Fashion
Now, any trip just isn't complete without a shopping extravaganza, and East Ham delivered with a bang! The shops were brimming with a perfect mix of classic style and cutting-edge trends, and it was a complete joy to discover my inner fashionista at its best!
Let me tell you, it was all about the pink, darling! I went completely crazy. Sequins, tulle, a whole kaleidoscope of the most divine shades of pink – I'm pretty sure I picked out enough tulle to cover every single bus stop in London, haha!
The Pink Tutu Message
As you all know, my biggest goal is to spread a message of pink sparkles to every corner of the globe.
