This week's adventure began with a thrilling journey aboard the trusty "Devon Belle", a stunningly pink vintage train carriage that transported me right into the heart of this vibrant coastal paradise. (Spoiler alert: I matched the carriage perfectly, in my latest bubblegum pink, layered tulle masterpiece - it was absolutely divine!)
Now, Weston-super-Mare may not be known as a ballet hotbed, but let me tell you, this town was bursting with surprises! My week started with a magical visit to the iconic Grand Pier, where I sashayed right onto the dancefloor and whipped up a whirlwind of tutus in the spectacular ballroom. The locals loved the surprise appearance of the Pink Tutu Queen, and the "oohs" and "aahs" filled the air as I glided through a delicate arabesque and twirled to a tune from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake (on repeat, naturally!). The staff even offered me a complimentary cocktail – a “Pink Paradise” specially crafted with sparkling wine and a touch of strawberry – delightful!
But hold on, dear readers, this was only the beginning of the "tutu-tastic" Weston adventure. Next on my agenda, the charming little "Thistle and Thread" shop. It's tucked away on a cobbled street with the most delightful vintage clothing - just my style! Now, while I wasn't on the hunt for another tutu (honestly, how many does a queen need, right?), I couldn't resist adding a few delightful frilly bits and bobs to my wardrobe. Imagine – pink feather boas, sequinned headbands, and even a sparkly clutch that looked like it was dipped in sugar! Oh, it was like being a kid in a sweet shop - all I needed was a big lollipop!
Then came my personal highlight: the annual Weston-super-Mare Folk Festival! Now, I might be known for my graceful ballets, but I have a secret soft spot for folk music. And the festival delivered. It was an explosion of fiddles, accordions, and whistles, combined with an absolutely delicious atmosphere! I even caught a couple of local clog dancers who wore pink tutus – you’ve got to love how this colour inspires creativity!
Later, I waltzed into a "Belles and Whistles" vintage tearoom. Picture this – dainty lace curtains, fluffy pink floral chairs, and a delicious selection of cakes that made my mouth water. As I savoured my afternoon tea, the sound of violin music floated in from the street. Oh, it was simply magical, and as always, I felt completely at home surrounded by all that feminine flair!
And finally, no visit to Weston would be complete without a trip to the beach. My beautiful pale pink swimsuit (you know, the one with the tulle trim) made a dazzling splash under the setting sun as I strutted down the sands, catching admiring glances from passersby. Oh, the simple joy of feeling the breeze on my face, the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, and the perfect touch of the cool water against my pink tulle – a divine experience indeed!
