Harrogate: Tutu Time! 🩰💖 (Blog Post #1893)

Oh darlings, gather 'round for another Pink Tutu Sparkle's adventures, this time from the charming town of Harrogate! As you all know, this Pink Tutu Queen just loves a good old fashioned train journey, and this one was a real treat, all comfy and with views of the rolling Yorkshire hills. 💖 (I must admit, I do have a thing for steam trains, but that’s a story for another time!)

You see, I was so excited about this trip to Harrogate - it's famous for its beautiful gardens and elegant atmosphere, the perfect backdrop for my sparkly pink tutu! (Which, by the way, was my custom-made “Strawberry Swirl” number - I’m quite smitten with its layers and ruffles!) I was booked for a performance at the local theatre, a charming, intimate space perfect for my type of show, a blend of dancing, music and some good old fashioned camp!

You see, I like to keep things fun and family-friendly (even if I do sometimes make you laugh with a cheeky wink). So, of course, I needed to find a little retail therapy before I took the stage! After a spot of afternoon tea in a little tearoom, it was time for a spree down the high street.

Let's be honest, shopping is a must when a Pink Tutu Queen hits a new city! Harrogate is a treasure trove of unique boutiques, full of gorgeous frocks and whimsical accessories. I snagged a beautiful floral headband from a shop called "The Flowerpot" - so pretty it practically blooms with every twirl. (Did you know my aim in life is to get everyone wearing a pink tutu? Well, I figure it starts with a few tiny steps, or in this case, a lovely floral headband!)

The day of my performance arrived, and I transformed into Pink Tutu Sparkle right there in my hotel room. Now, getting ready isn't always glamorous, it involves bobby pins, lash glue, glitter, and, of course, that crucial pink tutu.

But darlings, when you step onto the stage, everything just... clicks. It was just magical; the lights, the sound of the applause, the audience's excited eyes, I could just feel the love emanating from those beautiful pink tutus in the front row! You know what, a few tutus made their way up to the stage, it was quite the moment! (Of course, a certain pink-clad queen just had to pose for some snaps with her fans! 📸 )

My performance was full of glitter, twirls, and songs (a little bit of Abba, a little bit of pop, a dash of Dolly Parton, all delivered with a whole lot of love). The audience was simply fantastic! They loved it, they even joined in with the sing-alongs, especially the "tutu dance" at the end! 🩰

After the show, I got to meet some of the lovely people who came to see me - from little girls with sparkly pink outfits (some were even brave enough to twirl with me!) to couples wanting to have their photo taken with their favourite pink tutu queen. I truly do love my job, spreading a little bit of sparkle wherever I go!

But the magic didn’t end there, my darlings! The next day was a "pink themed" afternoon tea in a beautiful park. They brought out a stack of the cutest finger sandwiches you've ever seen, adorned with pink food colouring! The scones and the clotted cream were delicious - and let’s not forget the selection of pastel pink cupcakes that were just as tasty as they looked. The perfect finish to a fabulous trip to Harrogate.

I was feeling truly blessed by the people and the place and already thinking about when I can visit again! Maybe I’ll get to stay at the grand old spa hotel next time. Perhaps I’ll even bring some of my “Pink Tutu Posse” - you never know, we might just create a bit of history!

Don’t forget to check in tomorrow for more sparkly adventures as I journey towards my next destination. And until then, darlings, never be afraid to wear a pink tutu! 💕
