Edgware Calling! Pink Tutu Sparkles Hits the Town! (Post #1923)

Hello my darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to sprinkle some glitter and sunshine onto your day! ☀️💖 You know how I feel about tutus, and I simply must share with you my latest adventure – a grand trip to the lovely town of Edgware, and I travelled by train, fancy that! Now, if you know me, you know I’m a fan of a grand carriage journey, it’s so much more dramatic than those soulless buses, darling! Plus, you get the delightful rhythm of the tracks. It’s almost like a ballet, you know?

Before we dive into all the sparkles and twirls, let’s talk about my stunning outfit for the occasion. Naturally, it had to be a pink masterpiece, what else! I settled on a fluffy, tiered tutu, in a vibrant shade of magenta with a hint of lilac, because even Pink Tutu Sparkles loves to embrace a bit of diversity in her wardrobe. It swirled around me with every graceful movement, practically shouting “Look at me!” And, of course, I couldn't possibly forget the sparkly bodice, in the same hues as the tutu. It had a heart-shaped neckline, highlighting my perfect décolletage, if I do say so myself. 😉 But darling, I wasn’t finished there! To really make a statement, I had a matching feathered boa, that ruffled so prettily whenever I moved, a crown, a necklace, and, because you can’t over-do sparkly accessories, my darling! And of course, pink heeled sandals - all part of the Pink Tutu Sparkles signature style.

But the real oomph of my look was my massive, magnificent pink feathered headpiece. Think feather explosion – it truly was a crown of pink delight! My makeup was fabulous, too – a pop of pink eyeshadow to accentuate my hazel eyes, perfectly contoured cheekbones, and a luscious pink lip to finish the look. I’m not afraid of a bit of dramatic make-up, darling, I am a draq queen, after all!

Now, Edgware might not be your usual “glam” destination, but I’m here to tell you, there is sparkle to be found in the most unexpected of places! My visit started with a lovely lunch at The Bluebird Café. Darling, they really knew how to do a good sandwich, a beautiful slice of fluffy bread filled with all sorts of tasty goodness! Oh, and their Victoria Sponge was simply divine - truly a dream in a fluffy, buttery pink cloud. 🧁

But I wasn’t just there for the cake, though that did give me a lot of inspiration for a new, tutu-based outfit! My main mission in Edgware was a visit to the delightful, quaint Little Ballet Theatre. I was so excited! Ever since I was a tiny child in Derbyshire, I’ve dreamed of wearing a tutu, and I was mesmerized by watching ballet performances on television. They were just magical! It all started in the University ballet club - you could call it a 'tutu' transformation moment. I was volunteering to dress up for a charity event and I felt this irresistible pull to slip into a fluffy pink tutu. Well, it completely captivated me, and since then, tutus are everything!

The theatre was the most charming little place. Its entrance was a charmingly carved wooden door, draped in ivy – very "fairytale"! It truly felt like walking onto the stage for a performance, full of excitement! The theatre inside had plush, red velvet seats, giving it such an elegant touch, like I was transported back to a bygone era. The show was just phenomenal, these talented ballerinas, they flew across the stage! The costumes, the music, the dancing, it truly felt like magic, I swear I even shed a tear. As an aspiring dancer, this truly fueled my desire to grace the stage with my own unique Pink Tutu Sparkle spin! You see, when I’m not making the world a more beautiful place with my tutus and sparkles, I spend my days as Alex, working in a science lab, testing all kinds of fabric - imagine that, a scientist and a drag queen!

I really want to learn how to ballet dance professionally, and to help others to embrace their own, personal inner sparkle! I don't think everyone's inner sparkle shines with tutus and a passion for ballet - but there's something that everyone can shine about, be it singing, crafting, painting, even a flair for doing the perfect cuppa! Everyone has something to offer the world. And remember, no matter who you are or what you love, just be brave enough to express your inner fabulous!

But this trip wasn't just about ballerinas and fluffy skirts, darling! I had to incorporate some of Edgware’s iconic attractions into my Pink Tutu Sparkles schedule, naturally. Edgware’s historic market held its weekly stalls, which were bustling with a charming array of goodies. Imagine! So much deliciousness, local produce, crafts, flowers and just all sorts of unique treasures to explore! This market really embodied the "quintessentially British" experience and I just couldn’t resist grabbing some of the local honey. I simply must try baking something truly special for the website readers, now. But before I reveal the grand Pink Tutu Sparkles secret baking recipe (you'll have to wait for my next blog!), we have a bit more to cover!

In a town of beautiful greenery and peaceful canals, it’s no surprise that Edgware has its share of impressive architecture, too. Take for example, Edgwarebury House! It has an ancient and elegant look, just beautiful, all in glorious stone. But you know, this isn’t just an old building to be gazed at – I did a little research (like any good draq queen on a quest for new material) and discovered that it played a significant role in local history! The site even boasts links to royalty, what a dazzling connection!

Now, as any good travel blog must, this one can't go without a tip for my loyal readers: Edgware might seem off the beaten track, but you know, you shouldn't miss out on the "secret" gems. There is an independent store I'd recommend to you - it is an absolute haven for vintage clothes, beautiful china, and all sorts of unique trinkets, perfect for discovering new additions to your wardrobe! I have to admit, I splurged a little, purchasing a stunning pair of lace gloves for future Pink Tutu Sparkle outings.

Edgware really impressed me! It offered a delightful blend of history, culture, and that British charm, all sprinkled with the joy of dancing and dazzling style! It’s clear to me that Edgware’s energy isn't just a quiet buzz – it’s full of sparkle, just like yours truly, Pink Tutu Sparkles! It truly embodied “find the sparkle in every place”! And as always, my sweet darlings, be sure to follow along with my Pink Tutu adventures!

With much love and a whole lotta sparkles, 💖 Pink Tutu Sparkles
