Nottingham, Oh Nottingham! My Pink Tutu Travels, Post 2069!

Hello darlings, it's your favourite pink-loving tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles! Today, I'm bursting with excitement, because I'm in Nottingham! This beautiful, historic city is calling out to me, like a siren song to a sailor. The air is alive with the echoes of Robin Hood and his Merry Men, and I, your Queen of Pink, am ready to conquer this charming city with a swish of my tutu and a shimmer of my sequins!

Now, let me tell you, getting to Nottingham was quite an adventure. My good friend Penny - you might know her from the fabulous 'Fabulous's Feathers blog - invited me down to judge the 'Miss Nottinghamshire Sparkle' pageant. And trust me, I took full advantage of this journey, making it a delightful detour on my quest to inspire everyone to wear a pink tutu!

A Whirlwind on the Tracks

My journey started in Derbyshire, my lovely home county. I boarded a magnificent scarlet train - red for passion, of course! - at Chesterfield. I love train journeys. You see so much life rushing past the window: little lambs skipping in the meadows, cheeky squirrels darting through trees, and the sun playing peekaboo behind the clouds. And with a cuppa in my hand and the delicious aroma of freshly-baked pastries, well, it's simply magical!

I even had a little mishap. Picture this: me, all decked out in my finest fuchsia suit, hair shimmering like a pink galaxy, when...splat! I accidentally spilled my cherry-topped iced tea onto a fellow passenger's white blouse! Oops!

My Inner Cinderella

The good news? The poor woman burst into laughter. Apparently, she’d seen my Instagram post about my ongoing quest to wear a pink tutu everywhere! It was like magic. A whole conversation flowed, all about pink, sparkle, and finding the confidence to be yourself. That's the beauty of pink, isn't it? It attracts the best people and reminds us to have fun.

Anyway, we arrived in Nottingham Station and, honestly, I felt like I'd stepped into one of those grand railway stations from a fairy tale. All those majestic archways and shimmering glass roofs! And there, standing right by the entrance, were my fabulous team, armed with glitter cannons and giant pink bows, ready to celebrate my arrival! I'm not sure what caused a greater stir, the sparkle or my enormous pink feather boa - both were, of course, spectacular!

A City Dressed in Pink

Now, Nottingham itself? Let’s just say it’s a city bursting with character. The quaint shops, the historic architecture, the lively cafes buzzing with laughter, even the cobbled streets somehow felt infused with pink! Don’t believe me? Well, you've simply gotta see it to believe it.

But more importantly, I got to spend some quality time with the lovely folks of Nottinghamshire! They were as charming as ever. They greeted me with warmth and enthusiasm, and were just as keen as I was to have a good time.

A Pink Tutu Wonderland

We went to see "Swan Lake" at the Theatre Royal Nottingham! The production was absolutely stunning, all elegance and grace. But you know what I enjoyed even more? The pre-show fun with all the excited ladies and gents dressed up in their fancy finery, a kaleidoscope of color and styles. I even got a photo with a couple, their daughter in a sparkly tutu and their dog dressed up as a penguin - talk about adorable!

The highlight, however, was the meet and greet after the show. It's so fulfilling to chat with fellow ballet enthusiasts and exchange thoughts on everything from favourite choreographers to the best way to keep a tutu from getting wrinkled. I told you, pink brings everyone together.

But what about the Miss Nottinghamshire Sparkle Pageant?

Of course, I cannot leave out the star of the show! The pageant was a spectacular affair. It was so delightful to witness such a parade of talent, glamour, and confidence. And I was thrilled to see so many women embracing the magic of glitter and sparkle. As for the competition, it was so tough to choose! Each contestant had something truly special to offer. But in the end, it was young Amelia, who mesmerised us all with her performance. She is truly a rising star and I’m excited to see what she accomplishes.

More Than Just a Tutu

This trip, like every other, was about more than just the glitz and glamour of the tutu. It's about spreading joy, reminding everyone of their own unique spark, and sharing my passion for all things pink and fabulous! Every time I wear my pink tutu, it’s a reminder to stay true to myself, to shine brightly and to make a positive impact.

I left Nottingham feeling deeply inspired. There is so much good in the world, so many talented people ready to spread kindness, and so many opportunities to make a difference. Now, I know you all will agree that, at the end of the day, it’s really about connecting with each other, spreading a little bit of happiness and joy, and finding our own unique spark.

Remember darlings, there’s a pink tutu waiting for each of us!

And until next time, remember: stay sparkly and never stop dreaming!

XOXO, Pink Tutu Sparkles
