Hello my darlings, and welcome back to www.pink-tutu.com, your one-stop shop for all things pink and sparkly! Today's blog post is a real treat, a real peach, a real tutu treat, if you will. Why? Because yours truly is jetting off to Belfast, Northern Ireland!
That's right, my little pink ponies, we're packing our bags, putting on our fabulous pink frocks, and making our way to the Emerald Isle. This is the part where you're all thinking "but Alex, it's only September! Isn't it a bit chilly for tutus in Belfast?" and to that, I say "Hold your horses!" (Or, for a more practical transport option, your train tickets.)
Now, I know you've seen me rocking a tutu in temperatures that would have you needing a full-body thermal suit. I'm not afraid of a bit of a nip in the air! Besides, I have this delightful pink coat that I absolutely adore! And a fur-lined pink hood for those particularly frosty nights. Plus, a little sprinkle of fairy dust and my magic pink tutu will keep the chills at bay.
This trip to Belfast isn't just any old trip, it's a special occasion! It's the third annual 'Belfast Sparkle Festival' and you just know Pink Tutu Sparkles has got to be there! The whole event is dedicated to the celebration of the arts, particularly dance and theatre. Now, what does that spell? Ballet. Ballet everywhere. This year's theme is 'Diamonds are a Tutu's Best Friend', so you just know I've got a spectacular sparkly number prepared.
I've been looking forward to this trip for months. I love the energy of festivals - the crowds, the laughter, the excitement, the joy! And this festival just happens to have one of the best street performances lineups I've ever seen. There are going to be dancing fairies, mime artists, clowns... so many exciting things!
As you know, I can't resist a good ol' fashion shop-a-thon when I'm on my travels, so I'll definitely be hitting up the local boutiques for some fabulous pink finds. And, of course, no trip is complete without visiting a local dance studio! I've already planned a couple of ballet classes with a local studio, a charming place called 'Dancing Daffodils'. I've been itching to learn a new routine! You never know, I might even inspire them to try out a pink tutu. Wouldn't that be delightful?!
Now, before I go, let's chat a bit about my journey. I love trains! The clinkety-clank of the wheels on the tracks, the cozy cabin, the stunning countryside views. Of course, if time and location permit, I always try to hitch a ride with a friendly, well-dressed horse and carriage! I wouldn't want to compromise my style on a trip like this! I just picture myself perched on a carriage, my tutu billowing in the breeze, my pink feathers bouncing, a true vision of loveliness as we traverse the countryside. (I always ensure I have a basket full of pink and purple flowers to scatter on the path!)
I've already got my first show scheduled! The festival organizers have asked me to perform on the main stage on Saturday evening, so that's a definite must. They say I'm a huge draw, that the 'sparkle effect' really helps the audience embrace their inner-tutu. I just have this urge to spread the magic, to show everyone how easy it is to unleash their inner sparkles. I even thought of making custom-fit pink tutus and selling them during my performance! I know everyone would adore one! I think this might be my 'big break', my ticket to the national scene!
