Hello darlings! Your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles is back, and this time we’re bringing you fabulousness straight from the fashion capital of the world: Milan! 🇮🇹 I just had to tell you about this amazing adventure. My heart's still soaring!
As you know, my dears, I've got a thing for pink. Like, a serious thing. And a thing for tutus. So when I realised I could combine both of these loves with a trip to Milan, I nearly exploded with excitement!
The train ride from Derbyshire to Milan was truly delightful. It's so relaxing, watching the world go by through the window, especially in first class. That's another one of my guilty pleasures - first-class train travel, even if I’m just travelling from Nottingham to Sheffield. It makes me feel like I’m on an exciting adventure!
Let me tell you, arriving in Milan was like stepping onto the set of a glamorous fashion magazine! The architecture is simply breathtaking, with all its grand, historic buildings. But it wasn’t the buildings that made my jaw drop, it was the sheer style of everyone in the streets! Milan is a city where everyone looks like they’ve just stepped off the runway. And as a drag queen with a serious love for fashion, I couldn’t wait to soak up the inspiration.
Oh, my darlings, you just won’t believe the fabulous places I've been exploring! I had a right royal afternoon strolling through the glamorous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, soaking up the sunshine and checking out all the exquisite shops. Let's just say I had to give my bank account a bit of a workout – it's always worth splurging for a designer handbag in Milan. Don’t you agree?
Of course, I couldn’t resist adding a few more pink tutus to my collection while I was there. And they weren’t just any tutus, darling! Imagine, fluffy pink tutus trimmed with shimmering gold sequins and exquisite handmade embellishments! Now those are some tutus you can really twirl in!
And did I mention the food?! My goodness, you wouldn't believe how much fabulous food I ate! Delicious pizzas with the most exquisite toppings, creamy tiramisu, and perfectly brewed cappuccinos that would have your granny's heart fluttering with joy! Don't even get me started on the gelato!
But of course, no trip to Milan is complete without a visit to the famous La Scala Opera House, my absolute favourite ballet venue in the whole wide world! It's simply stunning, with its rich history and awe-inspiring grandeur. It felt absolutely magical to be there, surrounded by all that history, breathing in that rich air. I couldn’t resist getting a picture with the glorious chandeliers and statues, and even squeezed in a twirl under one of the grand arches!
I couldn’t miss the opportunity to get some professional ballet lessons while in Milan. That was a real treat, getting the opportunity to dance in that incredible city! After all, dancing is my other passion besides fashion and pink. And I'm happy to say, my new ballerina tutu was definitely making its mark on the dance studio!
As a huge fan of all things dramatic, my next stop was a trip to the Teatro alla Scala - it is so opulent and full of character, the perfect setting for a performance by the wonderful Teatro alla Scala ballet company. The performance was absolutely mind-blowing! It was a whirlwind of emotions – beautiful dancers, incredible costumes, soaring music, all culminating in a thrilling climax that left me absolutely breathless. You'd be surprised at the energy they manage to pack into such a dramatic, beautiful performance! The best part? The whole theatre buzzed with excitement afterwards, the energy was simply contagious! Everyone seemed so exhilarated by the performance!
The best bit of this trip though? My incredible experience working at a Milan Fashion Week event. Now, darling, we’re not talking just any old fashion event! Think high fashion, exquisite gowns, luxurious jewels, and a whole lot of glamorous sparkle. You better believe I wore my most sparkling pink tutu for that one. What better outfit to show off your amazing pink tutu than in the heart of Milan’s fashion scene, surrounded by stunning outfits! It was truly a magical experience! The people were absolutely thrilled to see my tutu in action!
It truly makes me believe in the magic of a pink tutu. They're like magic portals that transport you to another dimension, filled with sparkle and fun, reminding you to embrace your inner sparkle, always! I’ve seen it time and time again; they just radiate that magical energy! The smiles on everyone’s faces when they see a pink tutu just confirms that this feeling is contagious, my darling!
It's clear, Milan, you've completely stolen my heart. It’s so full of fashion, energy, and beauty, a truly dazzling city that reminds me of how wonderful life is. Oh, and I can't forget the incredible food. It was just so, so good!

Oh, I’m off to Florence next – did I mention I adore a city with some history? And of course, it will have to involve some fashion shopping. Perhaps Florence will finally be the city that finds me a perfect pale pink lace-trimmed tutu for my upcoming performance at a local fair back in Derbyshire. What do you think, darlings?
