Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, your favourite purveyor of all things pink and twirly!
I'm just back from a magical trip to Westminster, and my oh my, was it a whirlwind of glitter and good times! It felt like a dream! You see, I just adore travelling, and my recent train journey through the English countryside was something out of a fairytale! I'd been whisked away for a spectacular show - a ballet performance that absolutely transported me to another world!
And, of course, the most wonderful thing about going to a ballet is, you guessed it... TUTUS! It's just an absolute treat to see all those twirling ballerinas, their ethereal movements and their elegant silhouettes! Those intricate layers of tulle just fill me with joy, especially when they are pink, of course. wink wink Just seeing all that pink, makes my own tutu want to spin a little faster and higher, haha! I know my fabulous tutu and I were the highlight of the train journey, as all eyes were definitely on me as we breezed through the platform - a sight to behold! Everyone seemed captivated by my bright pink ruffles, especially the little ones. So sweet, I simply had to pose with them and give a few twirls - gotta inspire those future generations!
I just adore Westminster! The architecture, the history, the vibrant atmosphere... It's simply magical. You know how I always say that my true goal in life is to encourage everyone to don a pink tutu? Well, this past week felt like a real win! I met so many delightful individuals, from theatre-goers to artists and even a group of street performers who were more than happy to share their pink tutu enthusiasm! It seems I have more of my loyal subjects popping up all the time! The best part is? My very own pink tutu inspired so many to grab their own tutu and join me in a dance at the square! I was absolutely over the moon with this wonderful turnout and couldn’t stop smiling! The joyful chaos of all that twirling made the air shimmer with pure happiness! Oh my!
It wasn't all fun and games, you know! I had my fair share of challenges as always, being a drag artist, travelling the country for work, takes some organising! And believe me, when I say I really had to channel my inner superwoman to juggle all my appointments - performing, choreographing, finding the most divine outfits for my next performance and keeping track of the all-important, glittering details!
One of the funniest things I’ve discovered, darling, is that pink tutus seem to attract good luck! When I say ‘attracting’… winks mischievously. Imagine a lovely, unsuspecting couple taking a stroll hand in hand, gazing lovingly at each other, just blissfully enjoying their day, then, WHAM! A sprinkle of magic, and who is standing beside them? Why, none other than your favourite, fabulously dressed drag queen!
It always happens without warning – just pure, serendipitous charm! Like when I encountered a group of dancers who had lost their costumes… I just happened to have my sparkly back-up pink tutu with me. Of course, it wouldn't be Pink Tutu Sparkles without an outfit change! Let's just say, we made quite the dramatic entrance onto the stage...and the audience adored the unplanned, spontaneous performance! That’s what I love about drag, darling! You can't predict it - one moment you're sipping a latte in a quaint coffee shop, the next you're captivating audiences with your incredible performance! Life truly is a cabaret.
And you know what? Every time I go on a new adventure, I just seem to gather a little bit more magic in my wings. It really fuels my creative fire, keeps me inspired, keeps me dancing and keeps my tutu spinning! It's really important for me to spread the love of all things sparkly! Especially in the wonderful world of performance. Because everyone should be able to be their true, radiant selves.
