Rotherham: Twirling & Tutus! πŸ©°βœ¨πŸ’–

Hello darlings! πŸ’‹ It's your favourite pink-loving tutu queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! Ready for post number 2112, fresh off the presses from my fabulous pink laptop! πŸ’»

Today, we're in the enchanting town of Rotherham, ready to spread some sparkle and sprinkle a little magic over this delightful destination! ✨ This is going to be a blog you won't want to miss, my dears! I've got so much to tell you about my exciting adventures!

But first, let's rewind the clock back to the moment I arrived at Rotherham Station. The train ride itself was pure bliss, as always. I absolutely adore trains. There's something so glamorous about whizzing through the countryside, admiring the passing scenery with a cuppa in hand. I even found myself sketching in my little pink notebook! My muse was overflowing with ideas, especially when I looked at the gorgeous pink, orange and purple hues lighting up the sky as we travelled. πŸ’–πŸ§‘πŸ’œ

Now, Rotherham itself has a lovely old-world charm that made my heart flutter like a hummingbird's wings! I've never felt more welcome, the locals were so warm and kind! They genuinely seemed interested in my flamboyant attire and bright pink hair. Everyone was eager to share their recommendations, and they made me feel like a star, despite being completely unfazed by my dazzling presence!

This week I decided to explore Rotherham's incredible cultural side and went to the Rotherham's Little Theatre for an incredible performance! Oh, darling, it was pure enchantment. The ballet was exquisite. I felt myself totally drawn into the story, with a touch of the classical but with the modern flare you expect in 2005. My tutu (it's the one with the sparkly blue ribbons, you know the one!) was in sync with the dancers, a veritable swirl of sparkly pink on stage! πŸ’–

But enough about the arts! Let's talk shopping! The markets in Rotherham are simply divine! They offer such an array of wonders, from beautiful hand-crafted souvenirs and charming antique shops to tempting treats and even the most gorgeous, vibrant pink clothing. Yes, you heard that right! I found the perfect shade of pink chiffon to make a new, sensational tutu just for my next show here in Rotherham! πŸ’…πŸ’‹βœ¨

Of course, a trip wouldn't be complete without indulging in some yummy afternoon tea, would it? πŸ§πŸ«– I discovered this lovely cafΓ© tucked away on a quiet, quaint side street, and the ambiance was simply delightful. And darling, they even had the most divine pink macarons I have ever seen! I practically devoured them in a flash, leaving not a crumb behind! The pink sprinkles went perfectly with the blush pink cupcake I had too. I could literally taste rainbows, darling. 🌈

And of course, I couldn't resist trying out some of the local delicacies, from Rotherham's famous pork pies to scrumptious crumble, all washed down with a refreshing cup of tea. Yum! πŸ₯§

Now, for a little fashion inspiration for my fabulous readers! You simply MUST embrace the pink! There are no exceptions. πŸ’• You don't need a full pink tutu - though let's face it, a little pink in your life certainly never hurt anyone. You could wear a touch of pink with your jeans or maybe a pink feather boa. But the point is, I believe we all deserve to wear our favourite colour with pride, and if it's pink, then let those pink dreams shine!

I know what you're thinking: Alex, a scientist who studies fabrics by day, a drag queen by night, how do you fit it all in? It is true I do work full time for a company that designs the fabric for everyone from your gran's floral dressing gowns to top class couture fashion houses. So yes, my day involves fabric testing and fabric manipulation of every kind, not to mention loads of experiments with new techniques. But when I put on my dazzling makeup and glitter it all fades away and my imagination takes over, and the real Alex shines through! 🀩

I also know some of you will be curious to find out if I brought my trusty horse, Princess Pinkalicious, with me to Rotherham. This gorgeous chestnut mare is a big part of my life, but she's staying in Derbyshire, for now. She did a few show-stopping entrances into Rotherham with me and wowed the audiences! Sadly, a trip by train for her was too complicated. She’s also not too keen on sharing a compartment with a few grumpy old fellas - who can blame her! 😜

I hope you have enjoyed this little adventure of mine, dears! πŸ’– You know you can keep up to date with everything on www.pink-tutu.com, my little corner of the internet! I'm already plotting my next grand journey! Maybe I'll even wear my brand new pink chiffon tutu! πŸ’…πŸ’‹βœ¨ Until next time!

Love, love, love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles. πŸ’–

*P.S. If you do decide to travel, whether it’s by horse or train or bus or car, always wear pink! πŸ’– You’ll never regret it, darlings. πŸ˜‰ *
