Today, we’re jet-setting (or, rather, train-setting – more on that later) to the lovely Saint Albans. It's got the history, the charm, the cobblestone streets… oh, and of course, some fabulous venues for a queen on the go!
I've gotta tell you, arriving in Saint Albans by train was just delightful. I practically shimmered with excitement. Who doesn’t love a train journey? It's like a little window to the world. And let's be honest, there's nothing quite as stylish as a tutu in first class, wouldn’t you agree? (Especially this divine new pink tulle number with the silver sequined detailing – it's all about that subtle shimmer, you know? 😉).
Anyway, the train station is gorgeous, so full of that Victorian character I absolutely adore. You know I had to whip out my camera and get a few snaps, don’t you? Now, darling, wouldn’t you know, I even bumped into a little shop selling those delightful feather boas. You bet I had to snagged myself one for the show! I do believe I’ve discovered a hidden talent for choosing the most divine feather boa for every outfit. I think we need a new hashtag - #FeatherBoaExtraordinaire – let me know your thoughts!
Speaking of the show, my Saint Albans gig is at this absolutely charming old theatre right in the heart of town. It’s all warm brick and beams and twinkling lights. I always say, nothing beats a little theatrical atmosphere. Now, the only thing missing? More pink tutus of course! I've already spotted a few of those bright pink daffodils blooming by the entrance – maybe they could use a little pink tulle makeover! Who says tutus only belong in a ballet studio? We can bring that touch of sparkle everywhere. Just you wait, darlings, after my performance tonight, Saint Albans will never be the same!
But before we hit the stage, there was time for a little bit of exploring! It’s no secret that I love a good stroll around a new town. So, we set off on a pink tulle tour through the historic streets. The place has some absolutely stunning architecture, those medieval buildings just whisper history at you! Now, imagine those stone buildings in all their magnificence, adorned with a smattering of delicate pink tutus? Oh my! The potential for a truly sensational street style makeover is undeniable. And it’s not just the historical landmarks – even the shops and cafes just have a certain timeless charm. The owner of this absolutely adorable tea room even offered me a delicious strawberry tart – how utterly lovely!
You’d be surprised how much the local residents have embraced the pink tutu lifestyle, you know. While I was enjoying my strawberry delight (truly delicious! You should see my little sugar plum lips), there was a little boy – about three years old – and he literally pointed and shouted, "Look, Mummy! A pink tutu!” Can you imagine the pure, unadulterated joy? I just beamed right back and gave him a little wink. After all, it’s all about spreading joy, isn't it?
I mean, how can you be anything but happy when you’re surrounded by so much pink? You know, the shade of pink just naturally lifts the spirit, fills you with an undeniable sense of joy!
Anyway, I've already had such an amazing time here, and my show is just about to start. I've been working on my routine – it's a whirlwind of pink feathers, fabulousness and a whole lot of sparkle, all culminating in my favourite choreographed piece, "Pink Flamingo Frenzy!"

I never would have dreamed that my love for pink tutus would turn into a whole lifestyle! When I was younger, I was just your typical shy, Derbyshire girl. It was during my science degree at the University of Nottingham – who’d have thought it? – that my world truly transformed. I was part of the University’s Ballet club and, during one of our charity fundraising events, I decided to don a pink tutu for fun.
Let’s just say, the rest is history.
That pink tutu gave me a taste of freedom – it wasn’t just about the look, it was about the feeling! And that, my darlings, was the spark.
Ever since that moment, I’ve been on a mission – to spread the love of pink tutus far and wide. Now, some might think I'm just a little bit wacky, and that’s ok!
You see, for me, the tutu is more than just an outfit. It’s a symbol. It represents happiness, self-expression, and of course, a bit of harmless, playful silliness. And who couldn’t use a bit of that?
By day, I'm just Alex, a scientist in the heart of Nottingham. My lab is all about the textures of life, from the smooth finish of a luxury fabric to the crispness of a high-performance athletic gear. By night, I'm Pink Tutu Sparkles, transforming stage after stage with that pink tulle magic. It’s a balance, yes, but it’s also a dream.
