Barnet, Baby! - TutuQueen Diaries, Entry #2211

Oh darling, you wouldn't believe the journey I had to get to Barnet! A proper adventure, just like my life, but oh, so worth it. I just had to share it all with you, my dearest Tutu-loving followers! This is me, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and welcome to my blog! It’s Thursday, 19th January 2006, and this blog is my chance to tell you all about the fabulous journey I had getting to perform for the lovely people of Barnet!

You see, getting there was half the fun! It’s a right long trip from my humble abode in Derbyshire. I have a special place in my heart for long journeys, especially when I get to go by train. A comfy carriage with the window wide open is like my little portable stage! Oh, and a big ol’ glass of prosecco always helps with the mood!

There I was, rocking my fabulous new bright pink fluffy tutu (my wardrobe is just overflowing, don't even get me started!), sipping my fizz and dreaming up new dance moves for tonight's performance. It was my first time performing at the "Barnet Big Top" a glorious red and yellow canvas tent tucked away behind a bustling market. It always excites me when I get to play a show in a proper, big, theatrical setting like this! It's much more immersive than the village halls and village pubs I've been frequenting for the past year! The kind of venue where dreams are truly spun!

When the train arrived at Barnet station, a rush of excitement took over. The platform bustled with commuters rushing about, and right there in the midst of the throng, was me – a vision in my fabulous pink tutu and oversized pink feather boa. (No surprise that people stopped to stare!) Honestly, I adore the looks on their faces, a mix of wonder and confusion! "Pink Tutu Sparkles", I say with a smile, "that’s who! Don't let the pink tutu fool you. There's a little bit of drag queen in all of us." (Now isn't that a profound thought!)

And my little journey wasn't over yet! Once I arrived at the market, I decided a grand entrance was needed, of course! What’s a pink tutu without a little bit of glamour? Now, where would a glamorous gal like me go for some excitement, but to the horse and carriage service right outside the market! (Don’t be afraid of a little risk and excitement, girls, after all, it’s the only way to really LIVE!)

The horse was just magnificent. Strong and shiny, with a flowing mane and that look in his eyes - “Yes, my lady, I will whisk you away on the most fabulous journey!" It felt almost magical, and I swear, I even caught the glint of mischief in his dark brown eye as we headed toward the tent. Oh darling, that carriage ride was just a moment in time I’ll treasure forever! The breeze rushing past me, the horse's clip clop, my glittery shoes twinkling - absolute perfection! It was almost as if Barnet itself was setting the stage for the most amazing performance I could have wished for.

Inside the Big Top, the air crackled with excitement! Kids screaming for the balloon seller, the scent of freshly popped popcorn hanging in the air, and everyone looking expectantly as I approached. They weren't quite ready for what they were about to witness, but you know what? That's what Pink Tutu Sparkles loves – to make an entrance! (Why have an audience if you don't give them something truly memorable to remember you by?)

So, I strutted into the big top, the fabric of my tulle tutu rustling like whispered secrets as I sashayed across the ring, eyes locked with each member of the audience. My heart swelled with pure joy – a feeling that is as comforting and warm as the love you find in a well-fitting pink tutu, trust me on that. My goal is simple: to make the world a better, brighter, and more joyful place, one pink tutu at a time!

Now, I'm sure you’re wondering, dear reader, what my performance was like! It’s almost a shame to give away all the details, but I'll tell you just a little about the show. The music played – it was “Walking On Sunshine,” my latest obsession, and I just felt the energy building, buzzing within me. My tutu fluttered, my glitter glittered, and before you knew it, I was spinning, twirling, and pirouette-ing around the ring! There was nothing left for me to do but live, laugh and spread the joy of the pink tutu through movement, light, and pure sparkly magic.

My goal isn’t just to entertain you, darling! It's also to encourage you to tap into your own creativity, your own flair, and just let go of your worries. Be like Pink Tutu Sparkles, be daring! Wear pink! Go on, I dare you, live your most flamboyant life, a little every day, and start your very own little Pink Tutu Sparkles revolution!

Just remember, every day can be a new stage, my dear, a chance to show off that playful spirit within, be a little more Pink Tutu Sparkles, and most importantly, just have fun, because you are amazing! Until next time!

Lots of pink love,

Your Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxo
