Hiya darlings! Your favourite pink tutu queen is back with another fabulous travelogue. Today's adventure takes me to the delightful Stretford, a place that's become a favourite stomping ground for this queen.
Remember how I was telling you about the wonders of Stretford last week? Well, this week, the pink tutu train took me there again! I just love the charming streets, the delightful shops, and the warm atmosphere that makes you feel like you're stepping back in time. Oh, and let's not forget the wonderful Stretford Arndale – a treasure trove for a fashion queen like myself!
The journey was, of course, an absolute delight! The train journey, it’s the best, you see, it gives me plenty of time to write, dream about new looks and take in the views – oh, and maybe sip on a little prosecco from my secret travel flask! I had an incredible view from my seat. Lush, green hills rolled by, reminding me of the gentle rolling hills of Derbyshire where my own journey started. And yes, darling, you've guessed it – I was sporting a full pink tutu ensemble. I mean, what's a trip without a touch of pink tutu magic? This time, I went with a vintage tutu I'd picked up in a vintage store in Buxton – it had this lovely rose-gold sequined detailing – perfect for a day of sparkle!
Speaking of sparkle, my dear, I had an absolute ball at the Stretford Arndale! Let's just say, it was an epic fashion feast for my eyes! I found myself completely overwhelmed by the endless rows of beautiful shoes, accessories, and clothes. There was an entire section dedicated to vintage and retro finds. Can you imagine, a Pink Tutu queen’s dream! And it didn't take me long before I started filling up my shopping bag with vintage gems. A little something for the stage, some dazzling earrings for the next theatre performance and maybe a fab new frock for my afternoon walk in the park!
I even had a delicious spot of afternoon tea at a little tea room tucked away on a quiet street. The staff were simply delightful – such sweet souls! And they were so excited to meet a pink tutu queen, they brought out a special "Queen's Tea" set, which included a tiny pink tutu cake! Honestly, I thought I was going to melt! They're the type of people you meet in Stretford, the type who make the place so welcoming.
This is the kind of day that truly nourishes my creative spirit, don’t you know? Every place I go inspires a new look, a new performance, a new way of expressing myself. Speaking of inspiring others, let’s have a little glimpse into my world! In this post I thought you might like to have a look into my day-job. The secret identity behind the sparkle, so to speak. Well, most days I spend my time in a laboratory testing fabric. But don’t think for a minute I’ve abandoned the world of fashion. This science job is perfect, I use science to investigate the very nature of colour. My pink tutus even get to star in my work. It's my mission to use my scientific knowledge to make pink tutus even more magnificent. And I’m very proud to be making a difference in my chosen field.
You know, darling, sometimes the world seems to throw things my way, testing me and making me wonder if it’s all worth it. I’ll be honest, sometimes those moments can be quite challenging. It can be a struggle, not being accepted in the real world for who I really am – an ever so colourful Pink Tutu queen! I never stop feeling that pull towards my dream - that's why I keep reminding myself:
Don't ever be afraid to be different! Let your true colours shine!
It’s important to stay positive and keep the faith. After all, when the going gets tough, I find solace in the fact that a lot of people out there, right here and now, appreciate my brand of sparkle. It makes everything feel so much brighter and worthwhile!
