Hiya lovelies! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you a sparkly blog post from Shenley Brook End! It's a right lovely town, tucked away in the heart of England, and Pinkie was ready to unleash some tutus. This week has been a right whirl - ballet classes, theatre gigs, and oh my, did you see my new pink clutch?!
As usual, Pinkie started this week bright and early at the Ballet Studio in the heart of Derby. I tell you, darling, I was working up a right sweat in my tutus – nothing beats a good ballet workout! We're doing a special performance next month, and the instructor said she needed "pink power" to put a bit of sparkle into the routine. I told her, "Pink is my lifeblood, darling, let Pinkie lead the way!” And let me tell you, the girls were right up for a little pink revolution!
From ballet bliss to train-travelling bliss, my next stop was Shenley Brook End, a beautiful place, full of history and even more pink possibilities! I had to ride the train of course, because Pinkie just adores the window seats! The carriage had this beautiful Victorian feel, like something out of a ballet! I imagine that as I’m sat there, there is a crowd gathered to see me on a platform, cheering with admiration! What a fabulous vision, what a stunning daydream. As the train moved forward and all I saw were fields and green meadows, it filled me with joy and sparks of inspiration.
Oh my god! Shenley Brook End was my second show for the week, and the audience was a joy! There was even this adorable little boy, couldn't have been older than 4, staring at me in absolute wonder, eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. I knew this one had just discovered pink power! I felt a little emotional – that's the beauty of it, seeing my passion sparking joy in someone so young, it reminds me of my own journey.
But enough of this mushy talk, lets discuss outfit, shall we? For this particular show, Pinkie chose a bright bubblegum pink tutu, sparkling under the stage lights like a star in the night sky. My make up was extra fabulous this evening, as always - with a bit more silver and some sparkly lashes. And my shoes? Well, they had to be pink, right? With glitter and pom-poms of course, wouldn’t have it any other way!
Now I did promise you some outfit chat about that amazing new clutch I found, so here it is darling! A vibrant magenta creation, the size of a small suitcase (because pinkies love space, even when we are out and about), adorned with jewels and pearls. It screams elegance, fabulousness, and all things pink.
After my Shenley Brook End show, I headed straight for the vintage market. It was filled with unique, beautiful items! Imagine a place bursting with colours, treasures of all shapes and sizes – oh the wonder of vintage! You know, my darling, it made me realize Pinkie was definitely a vintage soul, all that sparkling elegance of days past – it feels right, like I have always belonged in these times of dazzling fabrics and extravagant detail! It was a joy picking up new treasures – and who could resist another sparkly brooch for my collection?
After my day exploring this incredible town, Pinkie felt like heading back to my little corner of Derby. But darling, I couldn't resist having a quick horse ride! It's not every day a drag queen can get a pony to gallop around on, but this magnificent beast gave me an experience that could rival the best of the London shows and theatres. This is the power of the pink, darling, to give me everything I’ve ever wanted and more!
Before you all head off, remember – life's too short for dull colours. So grab a pink tutu, add some glitter, and sparkle like a star, because, my dear, Pinkie says - life’s just better with a touch of pink!
