Upminster Adventures! Post #2317: A Tutu-tastic Day Out πŸ©°πŸ’–

Hello, darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with another fabulously fun blog post! πŸ’… It's been a whirlwind of a week, what with performances in Sheffield and a whirlwind tour of London's markets looking for the perfect new sequins, but I'm here today to tell you all about my wonderful trip to Upminster!

Upminster - a name that rolls off the tongue like a velvet ribbon, doesn't it? It's been a little while since I last graced this delightful town with my presence, and let me tell you, the residents were positively thrilled to have me back! The sun was shining, the air was crisp (well, as crisp as air gets in ol' Blighty!), and my new pink feather boa was positively dancing in the wind.

But before we get to the fun, I have to talk about my journey, of course. A trip by train always gives me time to indulge in some of my favourite girly hobbies: writing a few blog posts, catching up on my favourite reality TV shows (anyone else a "RuPaul's Drag Race" fanatic?), and perfecting my next dramatic eyeliner look.

Now, this trip to Upminster had a very specific purpose. You see, it's no secret that I am absolutely smitten with the ballet, and there's a wonderful dance studio in Upminster called "The Dancing Unicorn." I simply couldn't resist a visit. Imagine, if you will, a grand ballroom full of pink tutus! Yes, darlings, I made a beeline for that lovely studio and had the absolute best time. From graceful pirouettes to exhilarating leaps, the talented young dancers had me practically tapping my own little pink toes! 🩰

Oh, but it gets better, darlings. This little gem of a studio is hosting an "Open Day" in the coming weeks. If you are anywhere near Upminster and have a bit of ballet magic in your heart, do come down and join us!

Speaking of magical things, after the dance studio adventure, I decided to take a stroll around the picturesque town centre, my heels clicking on the cobblestones with each step. And let me tell you, the shopping was fantastic! I managed to pick up a fabulous vintage feather headpiece (just imagine, darling, a fabulous purple plume that will add the perfect touch of regality to my next performance!) and a stunning pair of ruby red shoes. I always say, a fabulous pair of shoes can take you anywhere! πŸ‘

The day, of course, would be incomplete without a bit of a delicious lunch. The little cafe in the town square served up the most heavenly slice of Victoria sponge, topped with lashings of real whipped cream. Honestly, you could have knocked me over with a feather (a pink one, obviously!). πŸ˜‹

Before heading back to the station for my journey back home, I had to do something extra special to commemorate this perfect day - a photo shoot. With the beautiful Victorian architecture and a park that resembled something out of a storybook, the scenery was positively magical! Just wait until you see the images, darlings - think Pink Tutu Sparkles, perched on a vintage bike, sunshine reflecting off a sparkling pink tutu, the embodiment of utter joy!

The sun may have started to set as I bid farewell to Upminster, but the excitement of this perfect day stayed with me all the way back to Derbyshire. It's so inspiring to see places that embrace the uniqueness and wonder of life - a wonderful reminder to wear that pink tutu with pride, to let our true selves shine, and to bring a little bit of magic to the world. ✨

And that, darlings, is exactly what I intend to do. I’m back in the lab today, working my science magic, but tonight I’m hitting the stage again, ready to spread the glitter, the joy, and of course, a whole lot of pink. Because in my little corner of the world, life’s better in a tutu! πŸ’–

Love, Pink Tutu Sparkles. πŸ’‹
