Droitwich Darling!

Hello darlings! It’s your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the gorgeous Droitwich Spa! This is post number 2319, so thank you for joining me on this fab journey, I am SO happy you're here!

This is my second time in this fabulous town. Droitwich, you truly are a gem! Last time, I was here for the annual Arts and Crafts Festival, and the creative energy just blew my wig off! And, to add to the amazing experience, the sun shone the whole weekend, the sky a dazzling azure blue - perfectly complimenting the fabulousness of my hot pink tutu! This time I am in town for a magical ballet performance. It's part of the Droitwich Festival of the Arts, which I must tell you, is the perfect combination of culture, fashion, and fabulously fun!

This is such a great day to celebrate all things colourful and dreamy! Now, who doesn’t love a little splash of colour in their lives, especially with pink? The locals of Droitwich have been so welcoming - the shopkeeper gave me a complimentary pink and white striped umbrella with little ballerina swans printed all over it, and the baker even threw in a little extra strawberry frosting on my hot pink cupcake - such a darling! Oh! And did I tell you I had a ride in a horse drawn carriage? It was an experience fit for a queen, and it truly made me feel like I’d stepped right into a fairytale. They’ve got horses in loads of gorgeous pink saddles too, so I totally had to take a selfie. My Insta followers went wild! You can follow my every move on my Instagram profile, @PinkTutuSparkles. You can find my official pink website www.pink-tutu.com for more fabulous fun.

Today, though, my dear darlings, I must confess I’m particularly excited. I’ve had a sneak peek at the ballet dancers in their costumes, all pinks, oranges and yellows in tulle, and it looks breathtaking! They even have these adorable fluffy ballerina bunnies to entertain the crowd! Now that's what I call a treat! Can you tell I’m just itching to twirl on the stage, and join them in a performance full of sparkling energy?

You see, when I'm not touring in my fabulous tutu, you can find me back home in Derbyshire. I love that quaint county, it's a quiet place with gentle hills and a real sense of community. Back in Derbyshire, by day, I’m Alex, a bit of a lab rat – I’m actually a textile scientist, and by night I'm Pink Tutu Sparkles. So it's really cool to know that my two passions: Science and performing are always intertwined. Who’d have thought my science degree could lead me to a pink tutu-clad career! It all started in uni when our uni's ballet club needed someone to model a tutu at their fundraiser! That night was magical! I felt empowered! Ever since I’ve wanted to spread that empowerment! I believe everyone, from scientists in a lab coat, to farmers in a fields to even royalty should be allowed to feel like a princess, wearing their own fabulous tutus!

Remember my motto, "Pink is the new black," because the right tutu is the key to unleashing the confidence in you. This whole tutu life has taken me on a fantastic adventure, a life that includes travelling the country, performing for different audiences, and creating amazing memories! And it wouldn’t have been possible without all my fabulous followers and friends. I truly feel blessed to have found this platform to spread the message of self-acceptance and love - especially by embracing the pink and twirling in the world with our own fabulous confidence!

Right now, you'll find me nestled at The Swan Hotel. The whole place is just divine! It’s a boutique hotel tucked away in the centre of this fabulous town, right next to a picturesque lake. The interiors are breathtaking, you just wouldn't expect to see so much vintage glamour. And it's absolutely covered in pink floral wallpaper and sparkly vintage mirrors. I literally did a cartwheel in the lobby and everyone just started clapping! So what’s next? You might have noticed I have a special guest today, one that truly adds a touch of glitter to my look. It’s a fluffy little doggo with the most beautiful pearl white fur and big brown eyes that sparkle with joy! Her name is Buttercup and, yes, you guessed it, she has her very own pink tutu.

Oh darling, let’s get to this ballet show, before it starts without me! But don't worry, this is just the beginning!

For now, stay stylish, stay sparkling, and stay fabulous,

XOXO Pink Tutu Sparkles
