I absolutely adore seaside towns - the smell of salty air, the sound of crashing waves, and the quintessential British fish and chips (always with vinegar, of course!). I'm already feeling a bit giddy with anticipation, because today’s performance is extra special, as you'll see in a moment...
As I mentioned earlier, the joy of travel is something that truly lights up my day. I’m a bit of a romantic when it comes to getting around - there’s something utterly delightful about riding the train and watching the scenery whizz by. Today, however, I opted for a journey with a touch of the equine! Yes, darling, a horse-drawn carriage! Now that's what I call glamorous travel! Picture me, draped in pink, nestled in plush velvet cushions, with a magnificent steed pulling me towards my destination.
Once I arrived in Hartlepool, I had to do some serious sightseeing. It's a town bursting with history - I felt a connection to the past, the way the town blends old architecture with modern charm. After exploring the historic quayside, the museum, and a very picturesque park (which I couldn’t resist twirling in, my pink tutu flowing behind me, of course), I made my way to the performance venue, my heart overflowing with excitement!
Today's venue was a theatre, a grand old building that simply screamed "pink tutu performance" to me. But what made this performance so very special was the reason for it.
Tutus for a Cause: The Hartlepool Hospital Charity
My darlings, you know I love my tutus, and believe it or not, the most important message my outfits send is a message of joy and community! When I saw a call for performers for this fundraiser, I jumped at the chance! The Hartlepool Hospital Charity does vital work in our community, and they do it with the most generous hearts.
This performance was an absolute blast. We had a diverse group of performers: dancers, singers, musicians, even a juggling act! But, of course, the real star was me, Pink Tutu Sparkles, spreading the pink tutu gospel! Every time I take to the stage, my aim is simple: to inspire! To bring smiles to faces, to lift spirits, and maybe even convince someone to step outside their comfort zone and try a little bit of twirling, of sparkly delight, of joy!
The audience response was incredible. They were so enthusiastic, laughing with every pun, gasping with every leap, and showering us all with applause at the end. The air crackled with the shared love of theatre, of music, of celebrating together. Honestly, there’s no better feeling!
Sharing the Sparkles: The Magic of Community
After the performance, I had the privilege of meeting some of the staff at Hartlepool Hospital. Their dedication to providing compassionate care is truly inspirational! It's moments like these that truly make my heart flutter. Knowing that a little sparkle from me, my little performance, could bring a little joy and support to these remarkable individuals is the ultimate reward.
And let's be real, darlings, what would a Tutu Queen adventure be without a little retail therapy! Hartlepool has some fantastic shops, with enough vintage clothing, sparkly accessories, and unique trinkets to fill my heart, my suitcase, and my Instagram feed with happy pink goodness. I picked up a couple of stunning new headpieces for upcoming shows (hint: a feather boa adorned with little twinkling lights - it's to die for!). I always have a particular weakness for feathered accessories, don’t you think they give an air of royalty to any look?
