Bonjour mes amies! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and I'm shimmying my way back from a glorious trip to Lyon! The city of lights, the city of love, the city that whispered, "Pink Tutu Sparkles, come home with me!" (Okay, it didn't literally whisper, but it felt that way.)
Now, before you even ask, no, I did not get there by horse. The journey was, admittedly, less fairytale and more steam engine, but even the train journey across the Channel was absolutely fabulous! Imagine me, resplendent in my signature pink tutu, and a little beret (for that French chic) reclining in a first-class carriage, my makeup bag meticulously organised, my favourite perfume filling the air with the scent of sunshine and happiness. I'm a real glamazon on the go!
Oh, the Shopping!
You know, France is a fabulous land, but the best thing? The shopping! The clothes, oh the clothes! You could call it le shopping de rêves (the shopping of dreams). Every corner held a new treasure, each boutique an explosion of colours, textures and that special French je ne sais quoi! I could barely contain my excitement. I got my hands on the most adorable little silk blouse (that matched my latest pink tutu, natch!), a pair of glitzy red heels, and a fantastic feathered hat that's sure to turn heads on stage. I am already thinking of new combinations, new routines, new possibilities... chef's kiss!
A Touch of Parisian Glamour
Lyon wasn't all shopping sprees and delicious pastry, you know! I even snuck in a little Parisian glamour on my journey, hopping on a train to the capital for a weekend. Who could resist the iconic Eiffel Tower bathed in golden light, or a delicious croissant beneath the sky-high arches of the Arc de Triomphe? It was pure magic, a whirlwind of beautiful buildings, street performers and of course, la culture! I even saw a show at the Grand Palais! It was ballet, my darlings! And not just any ballet, but a vibrant, colourful ballet en pointe extravaganza! Pink Tutu Sparkles felt so at home amongst the elegance and the grace!
The Sparkles of Lyon
Back in Lyon, the local theatre scene didn't disappoint either! I caught a thrilling musical about love, loss, and redemption that was utterly breathtaking. (My favourite part? When the leading lady had her very own Pink Tutu Moment! It's amazing, isn't it, how pink tutus just make every performance more magical?)
But the real gem of Lyon wasn't even a theatrical show, it was the local ballet class! My oh my, were they talented! Each graceful step, every twirl filled with an effortless artistry, a dedication that shone from their eyes. They were absolute dancing queens and made Pink Tutu Sparkles a very proud, very inspired sister. Now, it's not easy teaching the steps to an entire ballet class in a pink tutu, but let's just say my pupils loved the experience!
French Food and Friends
As for the food, my dears, I must confess - I indulged! France, you spoil us. Everything from the crisp, buttery croissants, to the creamy moules marinières, and the juicy steaks – even the local wine was perfectly pink! Whispers conspiratorially And there was even a cafe where they offered little pink tutus with the cakes, just for me, oh là là!
Lyon and the Pink Tutu Dream
My dear followers, the Pink Tutu dream has landed in Lyon, a city of sparkling lights, exquisite cuisine, and boundless possibilities.
