Basingstoke Sparkle: A Tutu-ific Train Ride to #TutuQueen's Next Gig!

Helloooo darlings! Your #TutuQueen here, back with another exciting blog post for you fabulous followers! This one is number 2630 - we’re really racking up the content, aren’t we? Today, it's all about a grand adventure to Basingstoke, and let me tell you, it was one for the ages! But before we delve into that whirlwind of sequins and stage lights, let me give you a quick update on the good ol' Tutu-Life!

Things are, well, positively bursting at the seams! My science experiments at the lab are going splendidly - we’re testing some incredible new fabrics, imagine shimmering pink tulle infused with sparkle dust… maybe for my next costume?! 🤫

Speaking of which, I've been working on a new number for my performances - something totally out there, but absolutely dazzling! Can’t tell you more, darlings, it's top secret! You'll just have to wait and see… maybe at a show near you, you never know!

From Derbyshire to Basingstoke: A Train Trip fit for a Queen!

Now, on to the Basingstoke escapade. I always adore a train journey, the countryside zipping by as you get comfy in your seat and maybe indulge in a few snacks - don’t be shy! 😉 And let’s be honest, I look absolutely incredible on a train. In full drag, naturally. I practically make the carriages a runway! ✨

This particular journey, though, was even more magical. I’d heard whispers of a grand performance opportunity at a local theatre in Basingstoke - and what’s a #TutuQueen to do but make haste! Plus, who could resist the promise of a brand-new audience? After all, it’s my mission in life to make the world sparkle with pink tutus, and every new face is another opportunity for the pink tutu revolution! 💖

Finding my Stage, Spreading the Tutu Love

Once I arrived at Basingstoke (what a wonderfully vibrant little town!), I made a beeline for the theatre. It’s called the “Anvil”, - can you believe it?! The name is just too good! It immediately put me in the mood for some dramatic performance - it was all very “Tutu Queen on the Stage” and dramatic lighting! And let me tell you, it felt like the theatre was made for a fabulous Tutu Queen.

The show itself was an absolute triumph! The audience loved it! We laughed, we cried, we danced! I even got a few requests for a Tutu Masterclass, because who doesn’t want to be the queen of pink, sparkly tutus? Let’s face it, you’re never too old (or too young!) to have a bit of tutu-ific fun!

I had a great time, not just on stage, but after the show too. It was wonderful to mingle with the locals, to hear their stories, and to share a bit of my sparkle with everyone! Honestly, sometimes the best part of my travels are the people I meet, not to mention the amazing local treats I sample – did you know Basingstoke has the best handmade cupcakes you can imagine? Truly the kind of sugary indulgence even the strictest Tutu Queen can’t resist!

Basingstoke's Beauty: Tutu Queen and the Unexpected Adventure

One of my most memorable moments was at the park by the Anvil, the very next day. The day after my show was a little free for a stroll! I love those moments where you get to soak up a new place, and just feel the energy of the environment. What did I do? What else! I started dancing in my sparkly Tutu! There I was, by this tranquil little lake, showing off a few moves, spinning with my tutu as my stage, and suddenly – ding ding ding! A group of people just walking by – who knows they might not even like ballet or pink! – suddenly started clapping and laughing! The Tutu Love is truly infectious, you just never know when the Tutu-phoria might hit! ✨

That’s the magic of tutus, I think! They just have this power to bring joy to everyone, no matter where you are, no matter who you are. It’s truly my life’s work: to share that feeling with the world, to see more tutus out there, filling the world with rainbows of color and a sprinkle of that good ol’ fashioned tutu fun! 💕
