Burnley Calling! (Post #2653)

Oh, darlings! Buckle up your sequins, grab your sparkly fascinators, and hold onto your fabulous wigs because today, we're off on a journey! A journey, you ask? Well, a rather spectacular train journey to the delightful town of Burnley in the heart of Lancashire.

You see, my dears, this fabulous queen is always up for a challenge, always seeking new adventures. And what could be more exciting than spreading the pink tutu gospel across the North of England? Yes, you heard me right - spreading the joy of tulle and pink across the county! And Burnley seemed like the perfect place to start!

This is no ordinary journey, my darlings. No, no, no. This is the Pink Tutu Express!

Before I boarded the train, I spent an absolutely delightful morning getting myself ready. First up, of course, was a trip to the shops! I picked out the most fabulous new pink tutu, just a teensy bit different from my usual frothy creation – this one had little, sparkly pink roses adorning the bottom, oh my, they were just darling! I added a touch of sparkle, with a gorgeous, pink glittery shirt. (You know I have a weakness for glittery things). Finally, my signature, and absolute favourite pink heels completed the look. I may even wear my new feather boa - that would be très chic!

The train ride itself was a delight, with people peeking out at my vibrant outfit. One lovely gentleman even gave me a "top notch!" That always gets a big pink smile from me! The journey was like a whirlwind of delightful memories from my youth, filled with my deepest, and most cherished dreams of pink, fluffy and sparkly tulle - just simply the most divine fabric on this planet.

Speaking of memories, darling, you know that story I always tell you about how I got started in the pink tutu business? Yes, about that lovely afternoon back when I was studying my Science degree! It seems such a strange pairing – a girl in a science lab in a lab coat by day and a pink tutu wearing queen by night - doesn't it? But my love for science is strong and has helped me build a successful career! In fact, I work in a laboratory testing fabrics! Who would have thought that a passion for pink tulle would lead to a career testing materials. You can't deny science can be rather a fantastic, surprising thing - always unveiling something spectacular! Anyway, back to that afternoon. So, our University was raising money for the local children’s hospital and one of the stalls was selling pink tutus. You know I just couldn’t resist trying it on, it was absolutely love at first twirl! It just felt so right! My life was about to change forever. You know, it’s not quite as easy as just slipping on a pink tutu - it takes hard work, practise, a good bit of make up, glitter and imagination - lots and lots of imagination, darling! But the rewards are huge, being able to see how thrilled everyone gets when I appear! Especially the children. I truly believe that everyone should try wearing a pink tutu! It brings joy! It's contagious, I tell you.

After the train journey, it was off to meet up with the team at my hotel in Burnley. A beautiful little boutique hotel. Very chic, if you ask me, with its pink boudoir theme. They've also been so welcoming! As usual, they knew about the pink tutu business - I have a huge following amongst hotel owners nowadays, I’m always a big hit! So, after a quick, delicious lunch - and let's face it - who could refuse a plate of delicate cucumber sandwiches and Earl Grey tea in a china teapot with its own cosy tea cosy - yes, oh yes - I was off on another fabulous journey to see a performance at the beautiful, historic Burnley Town Hall. Just so much grandeur.

The performance itself, was truly spectacular, featuring the delightful works of some wonderful contemporary ballet dancers and choreographers - an absolute masterpiece! The most wonderful mixture of beautiful artistry and strong athleticism – breathtaking! This is something I could happily watch time after time – it certainly got the pink tutu going. In fact, I couldn’t stop myself from joining in with the dancers as I clapped enthusiastically and let out a huge shout at the end of the performance - something I can’t quite do at a ballet class back home!

In the evening, I had a great show. Yes, I had my big pink debut in Burnley at a local cabaret. It was so exciting and thrilling and an absolute hoot to see so many smiley faces in the audience and, of course, to see a sprinkling of pink tutus in the crowd! It really warmed my heart to be in such an inclusive and wonderfully lively setting!

I can't wait to come back to Burnley again. You’ll be getting the whole pink tutu treatment next time, Burnley – it will be my very best performance yet!

Right, I better end this fab blog now and pack for my next grand adventure! It’s a rather large suitcase of frills, sequins, pink tutu accessories, glittery eyelashes and a sprinkle of fairy dust! Until next time darlings – remember to go out there and sparkle! Don’t forget, we’re all about pink tutu love and kindness – oh, and a sprinkling of fabulous!

Keep shining, darlings!

Pink Tutu Sparkles

xx

P.S I have just had an absolutely smashing idea – to write an uplifting book! Oh, it's simply genius, don't you think! "Pink Tutu Tales" - Adventures and Sparkle in Pink Tutudom. I must let you know more about it, later darlings, in a later blog, when I've had chance to dust down my writing feathers.

Where do you get your ideas for blogs and books?

I know this question pops up all the time in my posts - where on earth do I find my inspiration? Well, honestly, it can come from anywhere. A walk in the park, the colour of a butterfly, the sound of a birdsong – and that little flutter of magic is always there – always encouraging me to move that little pink spark within. Then again, sometimes I’m simply a wee bit too excited to do the weekly grocery shop. All those gorgeous tubs of glittery ice cream. Now, that's inspiration too, wouldn't you say? Or it might be the sound of an opera on the radio. It doesn’t have to be some big glamorous affair, it could simply be the joy of picking a sprig of lavender for my lovely floral tea – it really is a pink, tutu-tiful life.

My pink tutu inspirations

Every day, I find a multitude of inspirational things - that inspire me – but today’s are:

1) My Mum. - This one comes up a lot. She's simply the most fabulous woman. She's taught me that there are infinite possibilities – all I need is that little extra sprinkle of magic!

2) Audrey Hepburn. – My fashion icon. It has to be that stunningly iconic pink tulle dress worn by the delectable Audrey in the film "Sabrina.” That truly defines fab-u-lous!

3) “Dance Spirit” by Isadora Duncan. – That utterly beautiful and emotive dance essay – simply amazing and truly inspiring, every time!

4) The Great Lakes. Oh, they’re so spectacularly grand and vast. That sense of incredible beauty, power and grandeur. Truly majestic!

Tutu's in the News

“Don’t forget the sparkle, darlings.” * It seems my little piece of pink tutu wisdom has finally made it into the national newspapers! I can't believe the national newspaper, *The Pink Times, decided to put the quote in one of their lifestyle articles about how to create more sparkle in our daily lives. So exciting! I can’t wait to pick up my very first copy of the “Pink Times” .

So that's it for this post darlings! Remember: you're amazing, beautiful and fabulously unique. Now, go forth, embrace that pink tutu glow, spread that spark, and remember always, to always shine, shine, shine!
