#TutuQueen on 2007-04-26 stars in Walsall

Darlings, how are you? Your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, is back from a whirlwind trip to the wonderful Walsall and, oh my goodness, let me tell you, this place is a dream come true for a pink tutu loving queen! It's just bursting with character, charm and, let's be honest, those delicious pasties you just have to try.

This journey started with a hop on the train. I swear, there's nothing more liberating than the freedom of travelling by train. I was already rocking a vibrant fuchsia tutu and a shimmering pink bomber jacket, of course. This outfit was a perfect mix of practical travel wear and fierce glam. Let's be real, darling, you never want to let your pink tutu down! I spotted a fellow tutu-wearing aficionado at the station, which is always a great start to a trip, isn't it?

My performance venue was an adorable little theatre nestled in a hidden alleyway. Now, we all know that finding a gem hidden away like that requires some serious dedication! It was completely different to the bustling nightclubs or packed fairgrounds I normally perform in. But that’s what makes performing so exciting, don't you think?

Once again, I put my best tutu forward. I felt like a pink ballerina, poised to share some pure glitter magic with everyone! My setlist was a mix of my favourite dance tracks. Think "Vogue," "Let's Go to the Mall," and even a sassy rendition of “Sugar, Sugar.” You'd be surprised at how much the audience went wild for my little bit of choreography at the end. You see, a queen knows how to add just the right amount of magic!

But darling, it wasn't just the show itself! There were delicious cupcakes after the performance and even a local "pink tutu themed" pottery workshop. Let me tell you, those tutus were truly inspired! My creative spirit went into overdrive, I came back with two delightful new tutus. Can't wait to debut them next week!

It’s all thanks to YOU! Without your beautiful support, I’d just be another lab technician stuck in Derbyshire (don’t get me wrong, the Derbyshire scenery is beautiful, but let's be honest, sometimes I need a little bit more glitz and glam!).

I’ve been getting asked a lot about the whole ‘Alex-the-scientist’ by ‘Pink Tutu Sparkles’ journey, and honestly, I’m loving it!

This week's science lab life was pretty interesting! I was helping a designer who’s testing fabrics that might end up in, you guessed it… PINK TUTUS! Now, who said being a scientist can't be glam?

My current research focuses on sustainable materials. I mean, being glamorous can be eco-friendly too, right? I'm developing some super-bright pink fabrics, completely biodegradable and eco-friendly. I just have to ensure they are perfectly strong enough for pirouette spins and jumps, of course!

But listen, this blog isn’t just about my work in the lab and on stage! This blog is about how you can embrace your inner Pink Tutu Sparkles, whatever that means for you!
