You might be thinking, "Grays? Why Grays, Pink Tutu?" Well, let me tell you, darlings, there's a certain charm about this town, and it’s about more than just the name! You see, this sassy pink tutu wearing queen loves a bit of a train journey and Grays was a delightful stop on my way to a show in Southend, which by the way, was positively magical!
It all started with a phone call from a local theatre, the charming, the friendly, the absolutely gorgeous 'Grays Arts Centre,' wanting to book Pink Tutu for a big night of glitter and glam. And who am I to resist a good call-out? Plus, it was the perfect opportunity to spread the love for pink tutus and, as always, do my bit for the wonderful world of performing arts.
This journey though, took on an extra special element of flair thanks to the wonderful Mr. Trotters and his beautiful carriage! Let me tell you, a carriage ride is not just a carriage ride, darlings, it's a whirlwind of pure joy! You see the world in a different way, the streets transform into shimmering ribbons of delight and everything sparkles!
Now, I can hear you all, 'but Pink Tutu, why the carriage?' And my answer is simple, I love horses! Their majestic stride, their sleek power, their love for their humans…well, there’s nothing more divine than spending time with those noble creatures, truly a divine experience!
But I digress, darling! Grays! A true hidden gem of the Thames, full of fascinating architecture, the delicious scent of freshly baked bread (thank you lovely little bakery, I'm making a mental note to come back for another pastry), and let's not forget about the friendly locals!
Now, as you know, dear followers, I simply cannot resist a spot of shopping, so I embarked on a truly glamorous quest! Oh, you’ve gotta try the little boutiques they have there, absolute hidden treasures! Just like Grays itself, they are packed full of unique finds, sparkling delights, and so much loveliness you simply have to experience it to believe it!
My evening performance at Grays Arts Centre, oh darlings! It was a night to remember! A stunning space, with beautiful lights that played upon my dazzling, sparkly tutu, and a most enthusiastic audience! They lapped it up!
There I was, Pink Tutu Sparkles, a force of colour, laughter, and glitter, weaving magic with my dazzling, twirling, tutu-ing performances, and of course, a pinch of theatre-worthy, good ol’ fashioned drag. I told you I would spread the word, so let’s give Grays a round of applause for welcoming me with such open arms.
My little Grays escapade reminded me, darling, that there is magic and wonder everywhere! Whether it’s a majestic horse, a quirky, vintage shop, or a friendly town that opens their doors to a little sparkle, remember my lovely dears, you don’t need a magical carriage or a tutu (though that always helps!), just open your eyes to the extraordinary that is around you.
