Royal Leamington Spa: A Pink Tutu Dream! 💖🩰👑

Hello my gorgeous darlings! It’s your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, coming at you live from the lovely, historic town of Royal Leamington Spa! I can’t believe it’s already post number 2707, but here I am, spreading the joy of pink tutus one sparkle at a time. 😉

I know what you’re thinking, a science lab by day and a pink tutu queen by night? That’s me! Sometimes even I think I'm living in a bit of a dreamworld, but trust me, there’s magic in all of us! I always say, who needs to study physics when you can spin in a perfectly pleated tutu? 😂

So, back to Leamington Spa… This town is like a fairy-tale with all the grand Victorian buildings and pretty parks. It felt a bit like stepping out of a ballet storybook, so I couldn't resist busting out my Royal Ballerina pink tutu – you know, the one with the sparkly crown and flowing, layered tulle? 💖

I decided to go full princess and make a day of it, starting with a delightful afternoon tea at the The Royal Pump Room, I was all about dainty finger sandwiches, perfectly brewed Earl Grey and of course, the most delicious scones, which I topped with clotted cream and strawberry jam – pure bliss!

Later, after getting my glamorous makeup on (don't tell my science lab colleagues! 😉), I sashayed over to The Royal Spa Centre for a captivating ballet show. The performance was magnificent - a story of forbidden love set in a world of swirling tulle and powerful music. You’ve probably guessed my favorite part – the corps de ballet dancers looking absolutely angelic in their white tutus. 💖🤍 💖

After the show, I went to The Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Honestly, I never tire of the grandeur and history of these beautiful theatres. As I explored the different rooms, imagining all the incredible actors and productions that have graced this space over the years, it felt truly magical.

One of my favorite things about Royal Leamington Spa is how easy it is to get around. This town is so compact and perfectly formed! So naturally, I decided to travel by horse-drawn carriage! It felt utterly delightful and utterly royal! The horses were majestic and their harnesses were decorated with beautiful pink flowers. Talk about perfect! 🥰

After a lovely stroll in the park, enjoying the cool spring breeze, I returned to my cozy bed and breakfast, The Shakespeare Hotel, to contemplate what wonders tomorrow holds.

Oh, and if you’re in the mood for some fun shopping, this town is packed with adorable independent boutiques and quirky shops! From vintage teacups to sparkly shoes, I was truly spoilt for choice! 💖👠

As for my drag shows? You can find me dancing the night away at different venues and fairs throughout the country. Just look out for a sea of pink! And remember, my lovely darlings, always embrace your inner diva and never forget… wear pink!

Until next time,

Pink Tutu Sparkles! 👑

Now for a little bit more about me… 💖

For those of you who don’t know, my name is Alex, and I’m a proud Derbyshire lass! (If you’re not from the UK, you might not know that being a 'lass' means 'girl' or 'woman') - We have such stunning scenery here. Hills, dales, valleys… the inspiration for all my pink tutus. 😉

I started dressing in drag as a teenager. I would sneak into my mum’s closet, grab a glittery top or a bright pink scarf, and transform myself into my first ‘Pink Tutu’ persona - long before the sparkled tutu days, of course. My drag persona is a constant work-in-progress – you know, evolving, getting bolder, more pink. But the underlying love of sparkle, of pink, and of bringing a little magic to the world has always remained the same.

And how did I fall head-over-heels for the magical world of tutus? You wouldn't believe it, but it happened during my science degree! 😱 Yes, you read that right, a science degree! It all started at a charity fundraiser where the university ballet club sold baked goods and organised raffles. One of my friends convinced me to try on a tutu for a laugh – a little bit of fun to help raise money.

Imagine my surprise when I realised how amazing I looked! 😉 The fabric swished around my legs like magic, the colour felt so right, it was as if it were designed for me. In that moment, I knew it was my calling. It was the spark that ignited the Pink Tutu Sparkles I am today! ✨

From that moment on, I became obsessed! 🩰 I devoured ballet movies, signed up for ballet classes, and, most importantly, collected every single pink tutu I could get my hands on. My flat became a wonderland of pink! It's been a real passion project ever since. The joy of dance and fashion… what's not to love? 💖

To make this whole crazy life happen, I balance my science day job with my drag career, and honestly, it’s been an adventure every step of the way. You might think that doing a science degree and performing as a drag queen are completely different things, but to me, they are both acts of expression. My lab coat lets me explore the intricate world of fabric, and my pink tutus let me express myself creatively! 🧪🌈

My motto is: wear pink, sparkle, and never stop dreaming big!

I am so grateful for the love and support from my family, my friends and most of all my fans, the pink-tutu-loving crew. I believe everyone has a bit of sparkle inside them, and I want to help them find their inner sparkle, their inner pink tutu queen! 👑 So, go out there, spread joy and wear a little bit of pink - because the world needs a little more sparkle. 💗

Stay Fabulous,

Pink Tutu Sparkles! 💖
