Hampstead: Pink Tutu Adventures, Post 2724! 🩰💖

Oh darlings, what a week it's been! I've just popped back to my humble abode in Derbyshire after a truly glamorous jaunt to Hampstead, a truly beautiful part of London. As you all know, I adore exploring the charming nooks and crannies of this country and I always feel a real "pinch me, I'm dreaming!" moment when I step off the train and breathe in the fresh London air. This trip was no exception.

I actually arrived in Hampstead on Thursday afternoon, with a suitcase packed to the brim with pink tulle and glitter, you know the drill! My travel method of choice was the train, as usual, of course! The rhythmic chugging of the wheels is the perfect opportunity for a bit of ballet barre work – even in my stunning hot pink tracksuit. It really gets me warmed up for the magic that awaits in London.

Speaking of magic, I couldn't resist a visit to the Hampstead Theatre. This quaint little venue just exuded that London charm. I donned my favourite lilac tutu with the sparkly sequined bodice, adding a little extra glitz for good measure. It was the perfect attire for enjoying an evening of cutting-edge theatre, and my, the show was divine! It truly ignited a passion in me to get on stage and perform again soon!

On Friday, I found myself surrounded by some seriously stylish locals at Hampstead Village. It’s just SO charming with the old-fashioned architecture and shops, and everyone is always so effortlessly stylish! I spent a good couple of hours window-shopping and finding myself entranced by some adorable vintage clothing boutiques. I'm such a sucker for anything pink, especially if it’s embellished with sequins and feathers – naturally!

My afternoon wouldn't be complete without some ballet. And where better to do some tutus-and-tights training than at the illustrious Royal Opera House? My little pink ballet bag, adorned with tiny diamante stars, was bursting with all the essentials, of course: pink tights, my leotard, ballet shoes, a dehydrated raspberry for fuel and my favourite lavender-scented hand cream.

Saturday was the highlight of the whole trip: a magnificent performance at a bustling Hampstead Fair! I felt like a real-life fairytale princess, twirling in my favourite baby-pink tutu under the bright London sky. I got so many requests for pictures - who can resist my charming smile? – and it was simply divine to watch the children’s eyes light up as I danced amongst the vibrant stalls and joyous crowds. They were simply mesmerized by my bright, swirling tutu!

And you know me, darling, it’s always about spreading the love. You can never have too much pink, too many sparkles or too many twirls in life. My ultimate mission is to get the whole world twirling in pink tutus, one sparkly step at a time. I do believe a little bit of pink magic can truly change the world.

Oh, and my journey to Hampstead was not without its exciting, quirky moments! Remember the grand plan? To get everyone in a tutu? Well, imagine my glee when I met a fellow tutu-enthusiast, dressed in a gorgeous emerald-green number with delicate flower details. She was selling vintage trinkets at the Fair and she looked absolutely fabulous! We ended up bonding over our mutual love for all things pink and sparkly, exchanging stories and sharing the latest tutu trends. It’s the beauty of fashion – everyone has their own unique way to express themselves! I’m hoping to see her again soon - maybe on stage together!

Before leaving Hampstead, I simply HAD to explore its lovely park, Hampstead Heath. I find myself drawn to these vast green spaces, the kind that remind me of the fields back in Derbyshire. I always pack a pair of comfortable shoes when I'm in London – even my sparkly heels don’t always suffice for walking miles. My trusty grey trainers are a necessity when I’m exploring on foot. It's a peaceful, green oasis right in the heart of London, perfect for soaking in the peaceful atmosphere, and, of course, practicing some of my pirouettes! The sky above Hampstead Heath is truly breath-taking, especially at sunset. The golden hues just cast a magical spell over the whole place, painting the trees with warmth and the clouds with light.

The trip wouldn’t be complete without some quality bonding time with fellow tutu enthusiasts. We spent an unforgettable evening in the local pub, sharing stories and gossiping about the London drag scene. It's amazing how a simple pink tutu can break down barriers and connect people, isn’t it? We were simply a bunch of "tutu sisters" coming together in the heart of Hampstead to share our passion for everything pink and sparkly!

Sadly, my stay in Hampstead flew by as quickly as a single pirouette, but I wouldn’t change a thing about it. My head is filled with inspiring ideas for future blog posts and performances, and I'm already looking forward to my next grand adventure in this fascinating, ever-changing city. You know, I truly believe that the world is our stage, and we all have a right to express ourselves freely and confidently. Don't be afraid to wear your pink tutu with pride, darlings! It might just change the world!

Remember, the journey itself is just as magical as the destination, so keep those pink tutus spinning!

P.S. I’ll be taking a ride on horseback back to Derbyshire tomorrow – it’s a more scenic route and provides excellent practice for my ballet leg stretches. I’m quite adept at balancing while galloping and it really does get your heart racing! Stay tuned for some photos of that ride!
