As you all know, my life's mission is to bring a little bit of pink tutu magic to the world, one twirl at a time, and today I'm taking you all along for the ride!
This adventure began in the most delightful way – by train! I just adore train travel, the gentle rocking motion, the clickety-clack of the tracks, and of course, the opportunity to strike a few poses by the window. 🚄 My pink sequined luggage, naturally, looked absolutely fabulous beside me, a true testament to the pink tutu lifestyle!
Speaking of my wardrobe, let's talk about today's look. I went for a vibrant hot pink, floaty, tutu, because, well, who wouldn't? It's practically mandatory! 😉 It was adorned with hundreds of glittery pink sequins, which twirled and sparkled as I sashayed through Sutton. It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Sparkle performance without my signature bright pink heels and my matching fluffy feather boa! 👠
The reason for my journey? It was nothing short of glorious: A spectacular ballet performance! Ballet is my absolute passion – there's something magical about the grace and artistry, and the tutus, of course! I just can't resist those exquisite swirling garments of beauty! 🩰 I've been a devoted student of ballet for years, even going to classes twice a week, and I can tell you there's nothing quite like the feeling of spinning and leaping through the air!
Of course, the Sutton in Ashfield performance wouldn't just be any ordinary ballet. It was a special “Street Ballet" production – where modern street dance and the classical elegance of ballet blend together. Just brilliant! Imagine street dancers breakdancing and doing amazing flips right beside elegant ballerinas pirouetting gracefully, all to the backdrop of stunning lighting and a pulsating soundtrack – it was absolutely spectacular! 🔥 It got my inner pink tutu sparkle going like crazy!
I always find that these performance nights are a brilliant way to connect with fellow tutu-loving enthusiasts. I met some wonderfully dressed folks in the interval – a fabulous couple dressed in a striking matching blue and silver tutu attire, and a charming gent sporting a stunning blue velvet top hat with his tuxedo – truly fabulous! We chatted excitedly about everything from ballet's magic to the latest tutus hitting the catwalk! ✨
Of course, my evening wouldn't be complete without a chance to put on a show myself! I always try to sprinkle my pink tutu magic everywhere I go. This time, the lovely pub down the road was delighted to have a Pink Tutu Sparkle appearance! 😉 After all, what better way to bring a little cheer to a Wednesday night than a fabulously fun pink tutu performance? You can imagine the joy of hearing “I'm A Barbie Girl" blasting from the speakers, with me twirling and singing along! The pub's owners, a kind and generous couple, loved my performance and told me that I was a breath of fresh air – what better compliment could a Pink Tutu queen ask for! 💖
Now, before I bid you all adieu for today, I want to share a little bit of behind-the-scenes magic with you. Did you know, back in my science days at the university (I actually have a degree in textile science! 📚🔬 ), it was a pink tutu that sparked my love for performing and the whole Pink Tutu Sparkle persona? You see, our student union was raising money for charity and decided to host a ball. Being the fabulous fashion enthusiast I am, I volunteered to make a show-stopping dress for the event! I chose a vibrant pink, floor-length tutu (yes, a truly grand and magnificent number!). That was the night it all changed, and the Pink Tutu Sparkle dream was born!
Being a scientist by day and Pink Tutu Sparkle by night is such an amazing and fulfilling way to live! I'm passionate about science, loving everything about fabrics – from their texture to their composition – and bringing my scientific knowledge to my life as a drag artist means I have endless inspiration! It allows me to put a unique spin on the art of drag, crafting elaborate, colourful costumes that have that certain scientific, laboratory-inspired element. 😉
