Darling dears! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and let me tell you, this week's been a whirlwind! Got to catch the 11:15 from Derby on Tuesday, tutti frutti, all set for a fabulous jaunt to the lovely town of Stretford. Now, don't get me wrong, love a good train ride, but I do dream of owning a horse to get me about - the ultimate glamorous journey, right? A horse and a carriage with me perched on the front seat in a big pink tulle dress! Now, wouldn't that be a vision?
This trip to Stretford is all about spreading the Pink Tutu Love, naturally. I've got two gigs booked: one at the local community centre (expect lots of sequins and a special pink-tutu themed Zumba routine) and a special charity fundraiser in the park - where you best believe, everyone is going to be sporting a pink tutu!
And my dear readers, it's going to be epic. You see, Stretford is one of those wonderful towns steeped in history and character, but there's always room for a little pink magic, don't you think? Now, the locals there, they're known for being right down-to-earth - proper warm and welcoming. But when it comes to style and fun, they're ready to embrace all things dazzling and fabulous!
Just picturing it all now! The town centre, buzzing with life, me arriving on the stage with my team of sparkly dancers, and the entire crowd in pink tutus - just imagine the pink sea of fabulous! Oh, the sheer joy!
The plan? Get myself a little treat at the Stretford Arndale - gotta find the perfect pink feather boa to match my mood, obviously! I have it on good authority that there's an amazing shop with fabulous lace and ribbons galore - the stuff of dreams for any drag queen! Maybe some bright pink eye shadow for good measure? I'm going all-out this time!
The most important part, though, is meeting you all! There's a fantastic community feel to this town, and I'm so excited to see those happy faces in the crowd. Every interaction, every chat with a fan, that's what makes this whole pink tutu dream worth it! And the local café owners? Apparently, they serve a mean pink iced latte! My cuppa will be waiting - perfect after a day of sequins and smiles.
It wouldn't be a trip to Stretford without checking out the Theatre by the Lake - they say they're famous for their elaborate costumes, so I'm dying to have a peep at the backstage. Who knows, maybe they'll have a surplus of sparkly tutus that I can take for a spin? My fingers are crossed!

Wednesday: * Arrive in Stretford - all glammed up and ready to sparkle. * Explore the shops - for that essential pink feather boa and a few shiny bits for my new act. * Tea at the Arndale's cafe with the delicious pink latte!
Thursday: * The big gig! Performing at the community centre for an energetic crowd (a tutu-themed Zumba, don't you know!) * Later, the charity event in the park! All pink, all the time - a true spectacle of pink joy.
Friday: * Off to the theatre! See what backstage shenanigans I can get up to (a girl can dream of finding some sparkly vintage tutus!). * Then, off back home on the 11:15 from Stretford.

Behind the Sequins: A Little Chat With Alex
Hello darlings! Alex here, just for a moment to tell you a bit more about the pink tutu life beyond the glitter. Some of you might know, by day, I’m a humble science whizz. You see, I work at a lab, testing fabric and getting technical - not entirely glamorous, but there’s a certain kind of satisfying simplicity to it, you know? I’m surrounded by the softest silks and intricate lace fabrics all day - it feeds my love for all things fabulously textured and elegant. Who would have thought that science and sparkly tutus go so well together, eh?
As for me? Derbyshire lass, born and raised with a love for a good cuppa and a bit of cheeky banter. Now, a big part of this journey started with a tiny spark (see what I did there, darlings?) while I was studying at university. Back then, I was a ballet fan, part of the university club. One evening, we had a charity event and a friend convinced me to try on a tutu for a laugh. It wasn’t just a tutu. It was this magnificent shade of pink with the fluffiest tulle. I’ve been obsessed ever since!
Let me tell you, stepping out onto the stage in a pink tutu transformed me. Suddenly, I wasn’t just Alex in my science lab anymore. I was Pink Tutu Sparkles. Confidence. Power. The joy of sharing a moment, connecting with an audience – It felt truly magic. I never knew it could be so liberating!
So, yeah, it's been quite a journey. From being that science student in the corner with a quiet, bookish nature to dancing my heart out in a sparkly pink tutu under the stage lights! A pink revolution, don’t you think?
Honestly, being Pink Tutu Sparkles feels like living my truth. And let’s face it, it’s always more fun to wear a pink tutu!
