Whitley Bay, You’ve Been Tutu-licious! 🩰💖

Hey darlings, it’s your favourite pink-tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles! ✨ Ready for a whole lot of glitz, glam, and a whole heap of pink? Then sit back, grab a pink cupcake (or two), and let's delve into my fabulous trip to Whitley Bay!

This is post number 2771, my lovelies. Don’t you just love a good blog post number? 💖 Every single day, I bring you all the sparkly shenanigans and the fabulous happenings of my world. And I tell you what, this one's going to be extra special!

Why, you ask? Well, darlings, because this adventure took me to the wonderful seaside town of Whitley Bay. Let’s be honest, what's not to love about a coastal retreat? Fresh sea air, stunning scenery, and, of course, all those fabulously fashionable boutiques bursting at the seams with outfits just waiting for my next pink tutu performance.

Now, I must tell you, Whitley Bay really swept me off my feet. And by swept off my feet, I mean I had a little mishap with my new sparkly high heels as I was stepping off the train, let’s just say I went “whoosh!” into the air – just a tiny bit dramatic, perhaps? Well, no one ever accused this pink tutu queen of being a wallflower, did they?

Anyway, this fab adventure began bright and early in my Derbyshire digs. The sunrise was so gorgeous, it reminded me of the blush-pink ballet slippers I picked up on a trip to Paris. Remember that one, darlings?

Anyway, I managed to make a real splash at the railway station. As I strutted my way through with my trusty suitcase and my favourite hot pink feather boa, the stationmaster took a double take, as if to say "goodness gracious, where did you find that sparkly getup!" Honestly, darlings, some people! Don’t they realise it takes a brave and glamorous heart to be the dazzling, pink tutu princess of travel?

A Tutu-astic Trip by Rail

Off I went, in the comfortable and luxurious carriage. This train was fab - it was so shiny, it almost matched my new glitter platform shoes, the kind that make your legs look a mile long. I'd managed to score them from a little vintage store on a recent trip to Blackpool, my goodness, that city has it all, don't you think, darlings? Anyway, I got all my travel necessities ready. Let's be honest, a good bag takes you far. It's a whole separate blog post! A true queen, she never travels without the essentials – pink lipstick, a full-sized travel size bottle of glitter, extra rhinestones, my little makeup mirror (a vintage one from my grandma!), and my emergency glitter bombs - you never know when you might need some added sparkle!

Now, during my time on the train, I couldn’t help but strike up a conversation with a lovely family sitting opposite me. They were quite intrigued, I think, by my pink tutu and dazzling butterfly wings.

“My daughter wants to be a ballerina, she's mad about the ballet,” the mum said with a twinkle in her eye. “She wants to dance just like you!” The young girl had these adorable pigtails adorned with bright pink bows that coordinated so well with my entire outfit.

Oh, darling, I must have just melted, and a surge of that heart-melting joy we all know as “tutu love” filled my being. And I told them, “Tell you what, if you fancy seeing a show, why don’t you all pop along to the show tonight. I’ll get you in for free!”

You see, it’s all about spreading the love and inspiring everyone to express themselves with a sprinkle of magic. Now, don't get me wrong, being a scientist isn't exactly the stuff of fairy tales, but I'm always happiest when I'm creating a little magic in someone's day, especially for children. It's the reason I do what I do, darling, it’s why I put on my pink tutu and all my sparkle to make the world a brighter place, one glittering performance at a time.

Speaking of glitter, by the time we reached Whitley Bay, the sun was shining like a diamond, and you just wouldn’t believe how much the sunshine shimmered on my rhinestones. All in all, it was simply sensational, and even the station itself looked a bit like a pink-tinted fairytale with those lovely blue skies reflecting in its windows.

A Little Shopping Spree in the Coastal Gem

Whitley Bay has so many incredible shops and I'd never been before, so imagine the excitement I was feeling! The first thing I did, darling, was hunt down a little cafe with a “Pink Tea” set. It was a small independent cafe with mismatched china, all decked out in pink, which is truly my cup of tea! I just couldn’t help myself and bought a vintage teacup to add to my ever-growing pink teacup collection. (By the way, I have a very long and very fascinating collection of pink teacups – it could fill its own blog!) You can never have enough pink teacups. Let’s just say I have an insatiable hunger for all things pink. It is just the colour for life, darling.

Once my teapot was ready, I just had to get down to business. You know, darling, this pink tutu queen, she can’t help herself. I went shop hopping! All these little boutiques made my heart flutter like a butterfly - or maybe it was the effects of the fabulous Pink Tea! (Perhaps the baker added a pinch of sparkle to that mix?) Whatever it was, I’d certainly had a little shopping rush. I'd tell you all about my spoils, but it's a secret, until next week. Oh, the anticipation!

A Grand Performance & a Star-Studded Finale

You can’t visit Whitley Bay without going to the iconic Whitley Bay Playhouse. This theatre is like stepping into a world of dazzling, sparkly delights, and, naturally, this little Pink Tutu Queen couldn't resist showcasing my talents!

Now, darling, let me tell you, it was an absolute triumph, a glamorous spectacle filled with magic, colour, and joy. The audience were lovely! They even cheered as I took to the stage with my glitter-bomb launcher and rained down rainbows of confetti!

As the show finished, I took my bow and that little girl from the train rushed up to me, all eyes twinkling with adoration. Her parents gave me a little wave and smiled as if to say "thank you."

There is nothing like the satisfaction of performing, it just feels good, and the love in that theatre, all thanks to that girl and her love for ballet. As I waved goodbye to the girl with the big pink bow and a promise of more glittery shenanigans soon, she went off to learn all about tutus with her family! It made my day, darling, and my pink tutu felt just a little bit brighter too.

After a little while, I gathered all my glamorous belongings, including my trusty sequin-studded suitcase, ready for the trip back home to Derbyshire. The night train took me back to the quaintest little station. All the little lamps shone pink as the moonlight drizzled onto the cobbled street. As I was waiting, a man came up to me, and I had to admit, he seemed rather perplexed,

“Goodness, madam, where are you off to looking like that? We don't usually get people dressed in pink tutus hanging around the railway station!” He said, staring at my pink feather boa, my platform shoes and a few loose glittery sequins caught on my dress.

"I’m sorry dear man, but you’re just too late. The pink tutu revolution is coming. And there’s no stopping it!”

And with a sassy twist and a flutter of my dazzling butterfly wings, I bid him good night.

I’ll tell you all about my sparkly adventures in my next blog post, but for now, darling, I think I deserve a little pink hot chocolate and a nap! Until next time, remember to keep sparkling.

Lots of love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles (Alex, from Derbyshire) xx
