Buckle up your dancing shoes and get ready for a dazzling adventure, because it's going to be a Pink Tutu Spectacular! 💖
This week, the pull of the seaside has been irresistible. I just need to feel the sea breeze in my hair and the sand beneath my feet! Plus, Bridlington has been calling out to me, whispering stories of charming shops, tasty fish and chips, and an air of old-fashioned seaside charm that's hard to resist. So, of course, Pink Tutu Sparkles is hitting the road, leaving behind the lab where I work my scientific magic, and packing my suitcase with the brightest pink sequins and tutus I can find! 🧪✨
But before I hop onto the train, let's take a trip down memory lane, shall we? Do you know, when I was just a wee lass studying science at the University of Nottingham, my world got turned upside down? Now, you wouldn't believe this, but I had to try on a tutu for charity. A charity tutu, can you imagine! But, darlings, it was like a magical moment, as if someone whispered "Pink Tutu Sparkles, you are here." It was then and there that I knew my future. I threw myself into the ballet club, a ballerina by day, and in my nights and weekends, I started my transformation into the magnificent drag queen I am today. 🤩✨
Oh, and did I mention I am from Derbyshire? My heart still belongs to the Peak District and its rolling hills. It's where my passion for everything pink truly began. Do you know, I remember vividly the day my parents took me to a little boutique in Bakewell, a haven for vintage lace and ribbon. I picked up a giant spool of hot pink ribbon, and the rest is history! ✨💕
But let's get back to our seaside escapade! I'm all packed, with my trusty travel bag bursting with sparkly tutus, pink makeup, and a touch of magic. Now, let's have a little peek at what's in store for my fabulous trip:
The Big Bridlington Day Out:
- Fish and Chips! Oh my darlings, I don't know how to begin to describe the perfectness of freshly-caught, golden, crispy fish, lovingly served with creamy mushy peas. That's what Bridlington does best! I just know it's going to be a fish-and-chip feast! 🐟🍟
- Seafront Promenade Stroll: Walking along the pier with the sea breeze in my hair, watching the waves crash against the shore. I'm already picturing myself doing the splits on the beach in a tutu as the seagulls sing their symphony, and the smell of salt air mingles with the laughter of the tourists. ✨💖
- The Bridlington Spa: It wouldn't be a proper seaside getaway without a little pampering, now would it? I'm imagining myself taking a long, luxurious bath with pink bath bombs and feeling my worries wash away with the bubbles. Then, it's time for a bit of shopping in the charming little shops on the Promenade, finding the perfect new tutu to take centre stage at my next performance. 🛍️
- Bridlington Harbour: This vibrant harbour is home to a medley of colours, from the colourful fishing boats bobbing on the waves to the vibrant stalls of the local market. I love the lively buzz of it all, the delicious smells of seafood cooking, and the salty sea air. ✨💖
- The Queen's Promenade: This scenic walkway takes me past stunning Victorian architecture and beautiful gardens, where I'm sure I'll spot some charming blooms in lovely shades of pink. I might just have to whip out my sketchbook and sketch the most gorgeous spots I can find. 🌺
- The Bayle Museum: This fascinating museum is full of local history, telling the tales of the area’s rich past. From the humble beginnings of Bridlington to its more glorious moments, I'm excited to get lost in the museum’s collection and explore the history of this beloved seaside town. 🏛️
The Yorkshire Wolds: You know I couldn't resist a little trip to the nearby Yorkshire Wolds! I'm already picturing a scenic horse ride through rolling hills, feeling the fresh air on my face. Horses and tutus, you just can't go wrong! 🐴💖
And then, of course, there is the magical magic of theatre…:
The Bridlington Spa Theatre: You just wouldn't expect anything less than a little bit of glitz and glamour from this venue. I can practically hear the sound of applause and the music of a thousand sparkling dreams! This is where Pink Tutu Sparkles will take centre stage, ready to light up the stage with my stunning dance moves, dazzling pink costume, and a heart full of happiness. 🎭💖
Oh, how I adore my job as a drag artist! It's an incredible experience to travel and meet so many wonderful people. Whether I'm performing at a local pub, a festival, or a theatre like the Bridlington Spa, I love making people smile and creating a night to remember. It's also my way of spreading my love for all things pink and dazzling! 💖
