Derby, Darling!

Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, signing in from a delightful Derby! This is post number 2852, can you believe it? My dear followers, I have been going strong for almost 8 years! That's over 2,850 days of pink tulle, sparkly magic and spreading joy to all!

Oh, Derby you were absolutely divine! This beautiful city oozes history and charm. Just walking through the streets, taking in the architectural wonder of the buildings, it was enough to send me spinning in a tutu whirl!

Let's talk outfit! I chose a gloriously shimmering pink number - a silk ombre tutu layered with yards and yards of tulle. Paired with a tiny pink corseted top, just a hint of diamanté and pink feather boas, the whole thing practically vibrated! The perfect combination of playful and sophisticated!

This trip was particularly special as I was able to do what I love best - performing for you lovely lot. Now, my friends know that I love a good ballet show and the Playhouse Theatre in Derby certainly lived up to expectations! They had a show featuring a stunning adaptation of "Swan Lake" and I swear my heart soared just like the graceful swans in the performance.

The audience was fabulous! They gave me such a warm welcome and, just like I like to see them sporting my pink-tutu look, there were actually a few men there in pink tutus! My dream of spreading tutu-mania is working! I could practically hear the whoops of approval as I glided on stage with my trademark pink and silver sequined boots, and my signature dazzling, yet playful dance routine.

However, there was even more to Derby than the Playhouse. I am a complete sucker for a historical landmark, and you won't find a more fabulous place than Derby's "Silk Mill." This amazing piece of history is the oldest water-powered silk mill in the world - incredible, right? It is practically a fairytale building, I just knew I had to strike a few poses for a blog post!

Before arriving in Derby I indulged in my love for the rail, you just cannot beat the luxury of travelling in style by train. The views from the windows were so picturesque and relaxing, just perfect for composing ideas for my next pink-tutu number.

Once in Derby, I took a carriage ride, you see I am a huge fan of a good old-fashioned horse-drawn carriage. This time I chose the pink carriage, as what else would I pick, really? It gave me the chance to embrace my inner princess and I have to tell you, there's something so magical about being drawn around town in a carriage, feeling like a royal queen. Just delightful!

Speaking of princesses, a trip to a local artisan bakery in Derby provided a truly delicious treat for my inner sweet-tooth. The lady was kind enough to bake a pink tutu shaped cake, complete with tiny white pearls for sprinkles! I'll admit, it was so good, I may have eaten it all myself!

You may wonder how I, a small-town Derbyshire lass, manage to travel the world in such style! Well, my darlings, my talent and love of sparkly things is just that: my talent! I am a true pink tutu champion, you see! By day, I'm a scientist at a lab - believe it or not, testing textiles and fabrics, (including the most divine pink sequins, of course) but when the day ends, it is showtime! I trade the lab for the stage and sparkle up the whole town! I always make sure to squeeze in as many performances as possible in between all these grand adventures!

So there you have it, another wonderful week filled with pink sparkles and dreams! This journey has truly been an enchantment, full of amazing moments, charming encounters and unforgettable experiences. Oh! and how could I forget the breathtaking outfits I have been sporting? Just wait till you see the new collection - more tutus, more sparkle, more pink! I’ll leave you with this, darlings: Don’t be afraid to dream big, to be your truest self, and always, ALWAYS remember, a pink tutu makes everything better!

See you next time!

Until then, be fab, be sparkling, and wear pink!

xx Pink Tutu Sparkles.
