Today, my lovelies, I'm going to share all about my magical trip to Hastings. Hastings is a truly captivating seaside town in East Sussex, and I can't wait to tell you all about it! It was all sunshine and smiles, laughter and sparkles, just the way I like it. And, as usual, I wore a stunning pink tutu!
The Journey:
Remember how I mentioned in my previous post I love to travel by train? Well, Hastings was no different! I settled into a first-class carriage, adorned in my most flamboyant outfit. My latest pink tulle creation with delicate white feather accents and my trademark sparkly tiara attracted some envious glances! After all, who can resist the allure of a pink tutu in a sea of grey suits? 😉 The journey took a little longer than expected, but that's just more time to chat with fellow passengers and spread the joy of pink.
A Glamorous Arrival:
Arriving at Hastings Station, I was welcomed by the seaside air. It's not everyday that you find a vibrant drag queen dressed in a pink tutu on the platform! The station itself is beautiful – all brick and iron with a bit of Art Deco flair. It felt like stepping out of time and into a vintage postcard.
The Sea, the Beach, the Pink:
My first stop? Naturally, the seafront! You simply cannot visit a seaside town and not get a breath of salty air. I took a stroll along the beautiful promenade. The sun was shining, seagulls were chirping, and the ocean air made me feel fabulous. And what did I do on my promenade walk, you ask? Well, it was a fabulous photo shoot opportunity. I got to capture the sun-drenched colours of the seafront with my tutu's pink vibrancy, I have to show you all some of those pictures on Instagram, I'm telling you.
The beach in Hastings was truly spectacular. My shoes went off, I walked barefoot on the cool sand. A touch of sea breeze rustled through my tulle, adding extra dramatic flair. It was the most exhilarating feeling – almost as magical as a waltz on the stage. And just for a moment, I was back at the beach as a young boy, filled with joy and excitement, just before my world was touched by the magic of a pink tutu. I have to tell you darlings, my heart felt light, just like my delicate tulle fabric!
Hastings Castle: A Pink Tutu Fairytale
You can't talk about Hastings without mentioning the famous castle! I ventured inside and explored its rich history. Imagine, centuries ago, knights and princesses, all in their beautiful costumes, wandering these halls! It’s no wonder my love for costume blossomed in those moments, especially with my pink tutu. I did, of course, strike a few poses for some magical pictures. It felt as though history itself was waiting to hear my tale - a story about the power of pink, the joy of ballet, and my heartfelt mission to get everyone wearing a pink tutu.
Performance Time:
What’s a trip to Hastings without a little bit of sparkle? I found a lovely local pub with a stage that was ready for me. The music was playing loudly, and I found myself drawn to the beat instantly. It was like the music was pulling on my tulle skirt and swirling me towards the dance floor. I knew what I had to do.
So there I was - my tutu fluttering, my sparkles shining, and my heart bursting with joy. The crowd was buzzing. The music was pumping my veins. The moment was incredible! It’s funny how sometimes the smaller venues can create the most powerful experiences! I believe it is in the small details - a single twirl of the tutu - that make for the biggest emotions and memories.
And It's Back To The Train
Oh how I love train journeys. This was a beautiful, peaceful journey with plenty of time for a nap, a book and of course a bit more pink-tutu dreaming! I spent time thinking about my new adventure to Brighton – it's going to be a pink tutu extravaganza - but you'll have to wait for that blog post, darling.
