It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, checking in from the glamorous city of…Bootle? Yes, that's right! Your queen is bringing the sparkle to the Mersey! It's day 2971 of my dazzling blog journey, and trust me, my dear readers, Bootle has nothing on a pink tutu and a smile! 😉
Now, I know what you're thinking, “Bootle? Alex, honey, have you been eating too many candy floss clouds?” ☁️ Well, I assure you, my dears, Bootle is no less worthy of a Pink Tutu Sparkles appearance than any other town, city or village on the map. Why? Because the power of pink tulle knows no boundaries!
As usual, this adventure started with a train ride, darling! There's nothing more glamorous than settling into a plush seat, gazing out the window as the landscape rushes by, all while decked out in my signature pink, of course. ( I'm talking about my best new blush velvet suit with matching heels, if you must know). Let's just say, heads were turning in that train carriage! And wouldn't you know it, I got to chat with the most delightful woman, who's been knitting tutus for her grandchildren. She even showed me a picture! Such a darling!
After all, spreading the pink tutu message is my life's work. It’s an obsession, a mission, a way of life! Even though I have a normal job – yes, believe it or not, I work in a lab by day testing fabrics for…whispers…sturdiness, I’m convinced every single person needs a pink tutu in their life! Don’t believe me? Just ask the other ladies at the lab. It’s not unusual to catch them humming my show tunes or showing me pictures of their own budding ballerina daughters, even suggesting fabrics that might be tutu-worthy!
This week, my dazzling show has brought me to the stage at The Bootle Town Hall, a stunning old building full of history. The audience, full of adorable locals in their finest threads, were an absolute delight. Of course, no Pink Tutu Sparkles show would be complete without a few of my favourite ballet inspired pieces. This week I brought some absolutely enchanting choreography inspired by Swan Lake, featuring graceful leaps, twirls that made everyone swoon and… did I mention the feathery boa that added just the right touch of whimsical magic? Oh, the drama!
After my performance, there was the usual frenzy of selfies, autographs and endless glitter bombs (they do say that glitter is always appropriate, right?)! A little girl named Lucy came up to me, tears in her eyes, after the show. Turns out she’s a budding ballet dancer herself, and watching me made her feel like she could do anything! I took Lucy backstage, put a fluffy pink tutu on her and, together, we twirled and laughed like there was no tomorrow. It was one of those truly beautiful, heartwarming moments that make this journey so very special.
You know, I've been to many fabulous places. From the glitter of London’s West End, to the charming lanes of Derbyshire, my birthplace (that’s right, you read that correctly, even in a small town, a girl can dream!), there's always something magical to discover. But Bootle, my darlings, has been a real treat!
Speaking of treating myself, I just have to show you the divine vintage pink frock I snagged at a local boutique. You just can't deny a touch of vintage glam, can you? I might have splurged on a delicate tulle shawl as well (with a very subtle floral print, obviously!). It's the perfect accessory for the train ride home tomorrow!
This evening I'll be strolling the charming streets of Bootle. It's full of hidden gems waiting to be discovered! A cute tea room serving homemade cakes (of course, there was pink buttercream icing, oh yes!), the most fascinating little book shop and a bakery that smells like magic. And who knows what kind of adventure awaits!
Remember my darlings, the best journeys are those filled with glitter, sparkle and an abundance of pink tutus. No matter where you are, let your inner ballerina shine!
