Scarborough Sparkles: A Pink Tutu Paradise! (Blog Post #2978)

Oh my darlings! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with a whirl and a twirl, reporting from the gorgeous seaside town of Scarborough! Now, this is what I call a proper getaway, all pink sands and seaside fun. I even spotted a little mermaid in a sparkly pink shell top, so you know it’s going to be magical!

I took the train, of course! A train journey is a perfect time for me to plan my look. My pink sequin suitcase was packed with my latest tulle masterpieces, a mountain of sparkly shoes, and enough pink lipstick to last a lifetime. Plus, a little bit extra, just in case! It's all about being prepared, darling!

My show at Scarborough’s Grand Theatre last night was simply divine! It’s an incredible venue - grand, beautiful, with those velvet curtains… and, wouldn't you know it, it even has a gorgeous pink backstage dressing room, perfect for my pre-show rituals. Imagine my delight when I saw all the fabulous people ready to be enchanted by a sprinkle of Pink Tutu magic. I did a mix of my favourite dance numbers, with a dash of cheeky panto flair. My trusty feather boas, glittery gloves and, of course, a multitude of sparkly pink tutus ensured everyone had a sparkling time! The applause at the end was enough to make a ballerina blush!

After the show, it’s always a treat to wander around and soak up the atmosphere. Now, Scarborough’s definitely got charm. They've even got a lovely promenade with shops and a pier that feels like it's straight out of a Victorian novel! This charming town knows its pink - from candy floss on the beach to shops full of bubblegum-hued souvenirs. You see, everyone just loves a bit of pink magic in their lives, even on a sunny English seaside.

But, speaking of magic, this morning I took a class at the Scarborough Theatre Ballet School. What a treat! I love how ballet can take you away. You know, some things are just pure magic, like swirling and leaping through the air in a beautiful pink tutu. Now, wouldn't that make you feel like a princess? It definitely feels like pure magic to me!

Being a drag queen and travelling around, getting to meet different people in different places… it’s such an amazing life. It all started with a single pink tutu, you know. It was a crazy story - I was studying science at university, trying to choose between my scientific side and my creative side. And then, there I was, in the middle of the university’s ballet club fundraiser, in a pink tutu! From that moment, I was hooked on pink and knew exactly what I was going to do. By day, I’m Alex, the scientist testing fabrics to ensure they meet our strict regulations - although I like to inject a bit of whimsy with my pink tie. Then, in the evening, I put on my makeup and my feather boa and become Pink Tutu Sparkles, a whirling, twirling embodiment of joy and wonder. It’s a pretty wonderful life!

Of course, every good trip needs a touch of tradition! Tonight I'll be heading to the annual Scarborough Grand Pier Gala. I love these traditional events. You get to experience the history and beauty of a place. My sparkly sequined dress is ready and my high-top boots are waiting for a dance.

Oh! It's just occurred to me. Why don't I share my signature "Pink Tutu Sparkle Tip" with you? It's so simple but makes such a difference: when you’re feeling blue, or you're trying to add some magic to a simple day, remember: Just try wearing a pink tutu! Even for just 5 minutes. Just wear a pink tutu and twirl around! It’ll bring a smile to your face, I promise you. And if you really want to embrace your inner Pink Tutu Queen, make sure to pair it with a bright pink feather boa and maybe a couple of pink glittery gloves for a splash of sparkle!

So there you have it! The life of Pink Tutu Sparkles. The most important thing is that you stay true to yourself, never let anyone tell you who you should be, and be proud of what makes you shine! Oh, and remember, every day can be filled with sparkle, so go on and embrace the pink tutu magic. Keep twirling!

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles x
