It wasn't quite Cinderella's pumpkin, but it was a splendid start to my travels. The wind ruffled my tulle as we clattered down cobblestone streets, and I felt like a princess in a fairytale.
Arriving in Leith, I was charmed by its vibrant energy and undeniable charm. Quaint shops lined the streets, their windows brimming with colourful trinkets and treasures. I couldn't help myself - I just had to pick up a tiny pink flamingo teapot as a memento. Because honestly, a little pink flamingo is always a good thing, don't you think?
Pink Tutu Dreams: The Dance of the Sugar Plum FairiesLeith was calling out to my inner ballerina, so I made a beeline for the majestic Edinburgh Playhouse! I absolutely adore the ballet, you see. I mean, imagine - twirling and leaping in a glorious pink tutu? It's a dream come true! The Playhouse, with its gorgeous architecture and vibrant history, just added to the enchantment.
This time, I was treated to the timeless magic of The Nutcracker. Watching those exquisite ballerinas dance in their billowing tutus was pure magic! Their every step was so graceful, so perfectly executed. Honestly, darling, my heart almost popped out of my chest from the sheer joy of it all. Afterwards, I snuck into a little ballet studio in Leith. Let's just say I was having a grand old time learning some new twirls and poses! It was such a beautiful space, filled with mirrors and soft pink ballet shoes, oh, and I absolutely loved that gorgeous, wood-panelled dance floor. They didn't let me in without my own tutu, though! The Theatre at the Pleasance, it's a charming little spot that reminds me of the tiny Victorian theatres from back in my Derbyshire days. A truly magical venue! The audience was absolutely fantastic - they cheered and roared for my every twirl and sparkle, and the air was positively electric. My stage debut involved "Rainbow Kisses," a little ditty about the importance of sharing joy and love - which was just perfect for Leith's warm, welcoming energy.
A Delightful Treat: Edinburgh's Pink-tastic Food SceneNow, no journey is complete without some delicious food! I discovered this adorable little cafe called 'The Pink Teapot', I mean, I couldn't possibly resist a place with pink teapots! They served the most beautiful, delicious strawberry shortcake, which I savored every bite of, right there in the middle of their adorable little cafe garden! Pink tutu and a little slice of heaven, darling, is how you travel.
I also stopped for a delightful lunch at a charming little bistro on the waterfront. You wouldn't believe the view! It's no wonder Leith is called "the Port of Edinburgh," its historic waterfront is simply breathtaking. I devoured some juicy prawns while the waves gently lapped at the shore. It was the perfect backdrop for a moment of pure Pink Tutu Sparkles bliss!
