Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the fabulous, oh-so-charming Hampstead! It’s been a whirlwind of a few days, full of colour, laughter, and of course, tutus! Now, where do I even begin?
As you know, dear readers, I’m a bit of a train fanatic, so of course, I hopped on the Northern Line from Derbyshire (gotta give a shout-out to my lovely Derbyshire darlings!), with a massive suitcase filled with the most exquisite pink tutus, ready for this grand Hampstead adventure.
Honestly, it’s just so exciting to be in a place so steeped in history. Imagine, darling, being in the very same spot where the Beatles once performed! That’s right, my dear friends, the history of Hampstead and its connection to musical royalty, especially the fab-four themselves, truly took my breath away. Just imagine those famous lads strutting their stuff in those little pink tutus – what a scene that would have been!
Now, on to the most exciting part: Hampstead's famed "theatre scene." You see, I just adore getting to know new theatres! I love the vibe, the energy, the buzz of anticipation, and oh my goodness, the fashion!
I visited this lovely little gem called The Hampstead Theatre – an actual real-life, bonafide theatre with shows happening every week, darling! Of course, being a good little Pink Tutu Sparkles, I went to see a ballet show – I just adore watching dancers pirouette and leap with the elegance of swans and the strength of a ballet company. I actually spent a lovely afternoon with a troupe of charming little dancers (the most adorable little tutu-wearing cuties ever!) who were rehearsing for a performance. They just looked so graceful and elegant, they had the most beautiful moves, and the way they looked in their costumes was just breathtaking.
Now, dear readers, here’s where I have to share a little secret: ever since that glorious day, a few years back, when I tried on a pink tutu for the first time – cue the spotlight – for a charity fundraising event back in my university days, I just knew I had to wear it as a daily fashion statement. The sheer joy, the confidence, and the empowerment I felt, my darling, it was just electric! I mean, I can’t go a day without the soft tulle brushing against my legs – it’s like my lucky charm!
As you know, dear readers, I have a particular love affair with pink! It's the color of joy, of laughter, of excitement, and I want to share that with the entire world, starting with Hampstead! And how do I do that? By spreading the joy, one tutu at a time!
This evening, I even took a horse-drawn carriage ride through the enchanting streets of Hampstead – insert gasp! A little slice of heaven. You see, I find that the gentle swaying motion of a carriage, as we were clip-clopping along those beautiful Hampstead streets, always puts me in a dreamy mood!
Honestly, my darlings, Hampstead has a way of making even a Queen like me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, much like my most beloved pink tulle! I had the most wonderful day – oh, a fantastic day indeed – browsing the most exquisite, glamorous clothing shops and boutiques. I actually scored this stunning vintage, cerulean blue beret that’ll match my new hot-pink tweed ensemble perfectly. Talk about style!
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without a little bit of a side hustle, my dears! As a performer and a drag queen, my purpose in life is to make people laugh, spread the joy of dressing up, and to make the world a more colorful, and fun-filled place!
Tonight, I was invited to perform at the most beautiful vintage shop. Oh my god, darling, the outfits! And of course, I knew I couldn’t walk through the door in just a simple tutu – I had to be prepared!
This amazing vintage clothing shop – full of amazing clothes with prices that made me shout swoon! I spent ages looking around, my eyes wide with wonder, you could practically hear me shouting “Darling! Oh darling!” at every turn. Honestly, I wish I could just take it all home – so many treasures!
So, I arrived with a fabulously sparkly outfit that had people taking snaps and turning their heads as I strode towards the stage. As you all know, Pink Tutu Sparkles isn’t just about tutus, but about making an entrance, a statement! My friends and I really had a fabulous night at the most wonderful shop, complete with laughter, dancing, and oh, what outfits! We performed all sorts of music: disco classics, 70s glam-rock, and some fabulous, super-fun dance tunes – honestly, the energy was electrifying!
Of course, as a good queen, I always bring along a little something extra special: I just know people love to wear pink tutus (even more so when it’s sparkly and bright). So, I set up a little ‘tutu bar’ where folks could pick out their favourite pink tutu – each one more beautiful than the next! I also had a cute little makeup stall where I showed everyone the proper way to apply the perfect smoky-eye with a dramatic lash – oh darling, the faces when they looked in the mirror! It was fabulous!
