Dunstable Darling: Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on the Chiltern Hills! (Blog Post #3009)

Oh darlings! It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles here, fresh off a glorious adventure to the charming town of Dunstable, nestled in the heart of the Chiltern Hills!

This little trip was all about exploring new territory - a proper change of scene from my beloved Derbyshire. Now, I may be a seasoned drag queen traveller, but nothing beats the excitement of discovering a new corner of the world (or, at least, the world as seen from a carriage window or, dare I say, the back of a trusty steed).

Of course, a girl needs a mission, right? My Dunstable adventure revolved around my latest obsession - ballet! And by 'obsessed' I mean "I practically sleep in a tutu and spend half my life with a pirouette in my head!" It's no secret that Pink Tutu Sparkles lives and breathes ballet, and I can't resist any opportunity to share my love for this graceful art form with the world.

So, when I heard whispers about a wonderful ballet school in Dunstable, well, you know how the saying goes - where there's a pink tutu, there's a Sparkles! I packed my glittery suitcase, prepped my "All That Glitters is Gold" sparkly face, and set off on my quest. A bit of an impromptu detour for a "sparkle-fied" tea at a little cafe along the way, and, oh dear, how I do love a scone and a pot of tea - pink, of course!

The journey by train was a delight, my eyes glued to the ever-changing landscape flitting past my window. Lush green hills gave way to sleepy villages and sleepy-looking, yet wonderfully ornate, countryside pubs. I even saw a field full of sheep, and as any self-respecting queen knows, sheep have impeccable wool-styling skills - they were a sight to behold, I must say!

Arriving at the ballet school was an experience in itself! I'm talking Victorian charm, warm oak, and even a resident tabby cat lounging around a grand piano. I was ready to pirouette my way through the halls, all in the name of good old fashioned ballet appreciation. I even tried out a few of their classes - I must confess, my hip flexors are feeling a little stiff, but oh, the joys of pushing my limits, even for an old (well, not that old!) queen like me.

You see, darling, for me, every trip is a celebration of life, an exploration of new experiences, and a chance to sprinkle some extra glitter on the world! That's why I always make it my mission to inspire everyone I meet to unleash their inner sparkle. Even if it just means wearing a touch of pink - why not? We should all celebrate the beauty of individuality and find what makes us sparkle, whether that's pink tutus, a love for a certain sport, or simply enjoying a pot of tea while gazing at a glorious sunset.

And, I don't just preach it, darlings, I live it! This adventure wouldn't be complete without a chance to share my love of drag with the town! A small local pub, "The Pig and Whistle" as it turned out, was willing to host me, and that’s how I ended up on their stage, performing for a gathering of curious folks - all smiles and surprised giggles!

Who would have thought that a tutu-wearing drag queen from Derbyshire would make it all the way to Dunstable to perform a routine set to "Swan Lake" for a packed audience in a local pub? Only in the Pink Tutu world, dear darlings! I made a new friend in a lovely baker, Mrs. Plum, who had the most adorable little chihuahua named Buttercup. I spent an afternoon making cupcakes (pink ones, of course!) while sharing my travel tales.

From ballet school classes to impromptu drag performances, the Dunstable adventure proved to be another highlight on my endless Pink Tutu journey. It just goes to show that a little sparkle can go a long way, darling. You never know where the world of drag might take you, and what beautiful memories await. So, never shy away from exploring your passions, embrace your own unique brand of sparkle, and, most importantly, never be afraid to wear a tutu!

Until next time, darling,

Pink Tutu Sparkles!
