Leicester, Baby! Post Number 3105

Hello darlings, and welcome back to my little corner of the internet, where sequins sparkle, tutus twirl, and life is always, always pink! I’m your favourite tutu-clad drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and it’s a joy to be back, all glitter and grace, after a whirlwind adventure in the heart of England!

Yes, loves, I took the train – wouldn’t have missed it for the world! Something about a scenic journey, all steam and clatter, is the perfect way to build the excitement before a big performance. This time, it was Leicester calling. A charming little city, brimming with history, lovely parks, and the most amazing architecture. Think grand old buildings, Tudor houses, and cobblestone streets. It’s right up my alley for a girly getaway!

Now, Leicester wasn’t just a pretty face, oh no! The reason I was there, you ask? Well, to perform, of course, because that’s what I do! Pink Tutu Sparkles is on the move, bringing sunshine and a sprinkle of glitter to every corner of the UK, one dazzling performance at a time.

This time, it was the Leicester Arts Festival that lured me in. A lovely mix of music, dance, theatre, and visual art, perfect for someone who lives for a bit of culture. Oh, and of course, I managed to squeeze in a cheeky performance, a little pink-tastic treat for the Leicester locals.

Now, speaking of “treats”, Leicester was overflowing with those! I spent my afternoon meandering through the charming Victorian Market – rows of stalls bursting with artisan goodies and delightful little boutiques. Found myself the most stunning vintage scarf – emerald green and paisley, perfect for a splash of colour with a sparkly tutu.

I, of course, couldn’t resist indulging in some afternoon tea – a delightful treat in a traditional tea room, tucked away in a quiet corner. Scones, clotted cream, and endless cups of steaming, aromatic tea… What’s a queen to do but sit back, relax, and soak it all in!

Before I left, I knew I had to take a trip to the National Space Centre. It's this incredible museum with real rockets, space capsules, and the most fascinating interactive displays. Okay, you've all probably heard the joke about the scientist and the drag queen – let’s just say, I was more than a little intrigued by the technical wizardry!

Honestly, darling, the whole trip was simply divine. Leicester – a vibrant, charming city that embraced me with open arms. You wouldn’t believe the kind of lovely people I met! From the theatre managers, with their infectious laughter, to the market stall owners, full of stories and tips on local gems, to the theatre audience, their smiles the brightest reward!

My performance, as always, was a blast. Think twinkling lights, dazzling tutus, a pinch of playful humour, and a sprinkle of magical fairy dust. It’s a show designed to make your heart soar and your spirit glow. I love sharing my joy with others, and seeing their faces light up at the sight of Pink Tutu Sparkles twirling on stage is the most magical feeling.

Now, you might be wondering, what’s a Pink Tutu Sparkles blog post without a little life lesson, a little sprinkle of inspiration? My darlings, it’s simple! Don't be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone, to be daring, and to chase your dreams. Whether it’s wearing a sparkly tutu or taking the stage in a drag show, just embrace the things that bring you joy, and spread that happiness to everyone you meet. It’s not just about glitter and feathers, darling, it's about kindness, love, and acceptance.

Remember, every single one of you is worthy of being a sparkly star, you just need a little bit of courage to let your light shine. And, who knows? Maybe a pink tutu is all you need!

So, darlings, until next time, stay fabulous, stay fearless, and wear your own sparkle, wherever you are in the world!

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles (Alex)
