Just the mention of that historic city conjures up images of cobbled streets, quaint little tea rooms, and oh, the York Minster, so impressive. But what's really got my sequins a-shimmer is that I'm going to see a ballet performance - oh, how exciting!
My journey started on a train, naturally. It's just so elegant, you see? Nothing screams "I'm on a fabulous adventure" like settling into a comfy first class carriage with a cuppa and a magazine (all about ballet, of course). This is how a true Tutu Queen travels! 🚂✨
My dress for the day was... wait for it... pink! A beautiful bubblegum pink dress with an added sprinkle of pink glitter, of course! And how else could I adorn myself? A tutu! This time, a fluffy, three-tiered number with little pink bows adorning the edges. Just the sight of that bright pink fabric filled me with such joy! The conductor gave me a little nod and smile as I sashayed past, he obviously knew I was a queen! 💖👑
Speaking of royalty, York was just buzzing! People from all over, dressed in all kinds of interesting clothes, everyone having a good time. A lovely, diverse city. And I did what I do best, you know...
I strutted! I sparkled! I radiated pink! ✨💖 Of course, people recognised Pink Tutu Sparkles. "Ooh! Pink Tutu! That's my favourite drag queen!" A little girl yelled with excitement as she tugged on her mother's hand, demanding a photo. "Oh, sweetie, I know it's just a dress and some make-up, but you know... some dresses are just extra special." The mother looked at me with a smile and I replied, "Of course darling, I agree! It's all about the attitude. Don't let anyone tell you you can't be extra!” I winked as the mother chuckled, “Pink is the perfect way to feel extra!”
We took a photo with the two of them and it’s all over my social media now. The more people wear pink, the more everyone knows it’s a fun, bright colour. The little girl then went on to give me a beautiful little pink flower! I just about died of joy! 💖🌺 So very, very kind of her. What a sweetheart! And that little girl... that's how it all started!
Let me tell you, darling, my real name is Alex, a bit of a boring name for such a flamboyant person. I remember being back in Derbyshire, my hometown, studying for a science degree - it was a long way from the world of glitz and glamour. But, as you know, science and sparkle have a funny way of meeting up! 💖
One day I found myself in the university's ballet club, you know, trying on a pink tutu for a charity fundraiser. My eyes just opened up, like those dramatic theatre curtains! And that's how I knew, dear readers, it was a successful evening.
After the performance, it was a wander around the enchanting streets of York. I love discovering independent stores, picking out gifts and souvenirs for my friends and family - all in pink of course! 💕 I found the perfect little pink flower hair clips to match the one that the little girl gave me, so cute. I even treated myself to some yummy pink sweets! My pink heart was full of joy, darling! 🥰
York is full of little places with character - a perfect little cafe where I had a proper good cuppa and some scone with jam. Then we explored some lovely shops. I couldn't help myself but grab a pair of glittery, pink socks, just to make the train ride back even more fabulous. Of course, I was on the hunt for the perfect new tutu, and wouldn't you know it - in a little boutique on a cobbled street - I found the perfect little pink ballerina. It was just the cutest, and even better, it was half price! 💖🛍️ I had to buy it. What’s a tutu-loving Queen to do? It’s always worth buying an extra pink tulle number.

The sun sets on a spectacular day in York, leaving the sky painted in shades of pink - a fitting goodbye!
