You know me, I can't resist a good old-fashioned British seaside holiday. And this trip, my lovelies, was simply divine! 🌊☀️
I’m sure you’ll be saying, “Oh, Blackpool again? You’ve been there a million times, Pink Tutu!” And you’re absolutely right! But every visit brings new adventures and oh-so-much fun! Plus, the smell of chips and the sound of the amusement park rides never fail to take me back to my childhood. Pure joy! 🥰
Speaking of childhood, did I ever tell you how my pink tutu journey started? Well, it’s a funny story… Back in university, I was studying to become a proper, serious scientist! 🔬🧠 Boring, right? I definitely needed a splash of colour in my life! That’s where ballet club came in. Can you imagine a shy, bookish Alex trying on a tutu for charity? Pure mayhem! 😂 I knew then and there: I was destined to bring a sprinkle of pink and sparkle to the world!
Now, as you all know, life as a pink tutu-loving drag artist can be a bit hectic, balancing my day job as a fabric testing scientist with my nightly performances is a real whirlwind. 🤯 But when I need a break from all the lab coats and petri dishes, I can't wait to transform into Pink Tutu Sparkles. And Blackpool just seemed like the perfect escape! ✨
After my exciting train journey (horses were booked, darling!), I wasted no time heading to the beach. I mean, who doesn't love a good sandcastle, or a seaside walk with a giant pink tutu billowing in the wind?! The seagulls, I swear they were bowing to me! It was just heavenly. 🥰🌊
Of course, no Blackpool trip is complete without a trip to the Tower Ballroom! The graceful twirls of the dancers in the professional show had me absolutely mesmerised. I’m a big fan of all forms of dancing: ballet, street dancing, theater… anything that allows you to express yourself, really! 💖
But, darling, the real star of the show? My own fabulous performance, of course! 🤩 This time, I was invited to entertain at a glamorous local drag cabaret, a beautiful, ornate venue, oh so much glamour! I think it must be the most beautiful venue I've ever performed in, certainly one of the best-dressed! You know I love me a fancy ballroom. I brought the house down, performing my classic repertoire of high-energy hits. The audience was just incredible! They sang along to my anthems, cheered, and threw flowers! I even had some darling little girls dressed in their own pink tutus, and honestly, my heart just burst with joy! 💕
Blackpool never fails to bring the sunshine, literally and figuratively, you know? After all the dancing and excitement, I needed to treat myself. A leisurely lunch of fish and chips by the sea was absolutely necessary. What can I say? It’s a guilty pleasure, darling! 😅 But honestly, with a bit of glitter and a touch of pink tutu magic, everything tastes a bit better.
I even managed to sneak in some time to indulge my love for all things sparkly! There were endless shops full of tutus, feather boas, and glitter galore! ✨ It was like stepping into a giant, sparkly, pink dream. I must have spent a small fortune on some stunning new accessories to add to my ever-growing collection! 💖
This trip wasn't all about me, though! Blackpool is a town with so much to offer. From the traditional family-friendly attractions of the Blackpool Pleasure Beach to the thrilling thrill of the Big One rollercoaster (oh my goodness, those g-forces, I nearly needed a change of underwear!) - it's a real mix of old-school British charm and modern excitement. 🎉🎢 Even if you don't wear a tutu (tsk, tsk, naughty!), there's something for everyone to love!
But let's be honest, the true highlight of my Blackpool trip was the people I met. You lovely folks in Blackpool know how to have a good time! You made me feel like a superstar from the moment I stepped off the train. 💕
And my dearies, don't even get me started on the food! You wouldn't believe the glorious culinary delights I stumbled upon. Honestly, I think the amount of pink icing I devoured on the Blackpool cake could rival my tutu collection! 😂 The good news is, I still have room in my luggage for more.
