Ruislip, Calling! #TutuQueen Takes on the Tube - Blog Post #3215

Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to take you on a sparkly adventure. This post comes to you straight from the heart of Ruislip, my new favourite spot! But before I gush about Ruislip, let me spill the tea on how I got here.

As always, the Pink Tutu Sparkles Tour Bus (my trusty 2010 Ford Fiesta) wasn't feeling very sparkley. We all have those days, right? She needs a little TLC, a visit to the garage. So, to avoid being stranded in a shimmer-less predicament, I decided to take the Tube. Now, I'm not afraid of a bit of travel - especially by Tube. The journey's all part of the fun!

A bit of chit chat while queuing on the platform (gotta share some of my love for pink with everyone, naturally) and then the thump thump thump of the train rolling in, my sparkly heart beating along to the rhythm. Oh, the excitement of getting to a new place - the possibilities just fizz with fabulousness!

I always make a point of looking as fabulous as possible for my trips, even when it's just to a nearby town, and Ruislip was no exception! A pink and white spotted tutu, my best pink top and a shimmery pink feather boa. (Let's face it, darling, anything less just wouldn't do!) I topped off my outfit with my signature glitter stilettos โ€“ they never let me down!

Stepping off the Tube, I was immediately struck by how lively and charming this town is! The cobbled streets and quaint shops had an old-world feel about them, and the scent of fresh-baked pastries filled the air. Pure magic, I tell you!

A Royal Appointment

My day started with a visit to the Ruislip Manor Park and Gardens. Now, anyone who knows me knows my passion for pink is only rivalled by my love for ballet! So you can imagine my excitement when I heard about the beautiful ballet-themed rose garden.

Forget your boring old red roses! This was a symphony of pastel pink, white and cream roses in various shades of bloom, all elegantly arranged around a quaint fountain, with dainty pink flags fluttering in the breeze. I twirled in my tutu, feeling like a pink-tinged ballerina princess!

I had to capture it all on my trusty camera. You know, for my adoring followers back at home! A few Instagram stories and I was ready to move on!

A Tea Party with the Queens

No trip is complete without a little high tea. Itโ€™s just SO glamorous. Thankfully, the charming Ruislip Cafe is just around the corner from the gardens! I mean, darling, how could I possibly resist a delicious cake? And did I mention the teapot was adorned with delicate pink flowers?! It was destiny.

Over dainty sandwiches and an endless stream of pink cupcakes, I caught up on the latest news. You see, a fellow tutu enthusiast โ€“ and the fabulous Princess Prune of Peterborough โ€“ was joining me in a few weeks. I canโ€™t wait to introduce her to this beautiful corner of London.

Dancing in the Streets

Once my sugary fix was secured, I wandered around the market square. There was so much to see, hear, and experience โ€“ just like a street performance! This is what I love about Ruislip - itโ€™s a place where you can feel free to let your imagination run wild, even in a pink tutu. And it's not just about looking good - it's about having fun!

I took a moment to greet some of the lovely residents who were curious about my attire, always with a cheery "Hello! How are you?" (You know me, all about politeness!) They just love to see my dazzling pink tutu out and about, and it never fails to bring a smile to their faces. A sprinkle of magic and sunshine, one sparkly tutu at a time!

After the market, I was feeling a bit peckish again. Luckily, a delightful little cafe just down the street was showcasing a delicious array of handmade cakes. You see, my sweet tooth, she demands regular feeding! This little bakery, "Tutus and Tiaras" is just one of my newest favorite haunts! (A delicious apple pie and an enormous pink macaron later... I could hardly walk!)

The sun was setting, casting a golden glow on the town. It was a magical evening, and a perfect time for me to indulge in a bit of self-indulgent fun!

Sparkle on the Stage

Now, Ruislip, you might think this glamorous queen only came for a bit of sunshine, but the evening brought out the showgirl in me! It just wouldn't be a true TutuQueen adventure without a performance, would it? After a delicious meal (more pink treats - you guessed it!), I headed off to the Ruislip Library. Now, darling, not the typical kind of stage I usually find myself on! However, it turns out the Ruislip Library has a hidden talent - an evening of poetry slam performances. My inner performer had to give it a go!

My act was a mix of poetry about my life as a drag queen and, of course, some sparkling tutu moves! The crowd absolutely loved it. They even cheered me on!

Ruislip, You've Stolen My Heart

As I took a last look at the twinkling lights of Ruislip town before boarding my Tube back home, I couldn't help but feel a little bittersweet. Iโ€™d spent the day getting my fix of beauty, pink treats and performing to an adoring audience, It was a fantastic trip - another dazzling reminder that the world is full of magic and that a pink tutu can make any day fabulous.

Now, darling, if you're ever in the mood for an adventure - a real sparkley one! - donโ€™t just stand there! Put on your own sparkly best and come say hi to this wonderful town!

Until next time, stay sparkly, darlings!

Love, Pink Tutu Sparkles
