Surbiton Sparkle! - Post #3251

Hello my lovelies!

It's your Pink Tutu Queen here, ready to bring a splash of pink to your Monday!

So, as you all know, I live for the theatre, and for anything with a sparkly, glamorous edge. So, you can imagine my excitement when I landed a gig at a fabulous community theatre group in Surbiton, Surrey!

Surbiton, you may ask? Well, let's just say it's not the first place that springs to mind for a glamorous Pink Tutu queen. But you know what? Surbiton embraced me with open arms and it's a town that absolutely has its own charm. It felt a bit like stepping back in time - in a really good way!

Now, I'm not one for flying (let's be honest, those uncomfortable seats!), so I chose to take the train down from Derbyshire. Of course, my suitcase was crammed full of gorgeous pink tutus and enough sequins to bling out the entire Royal Albert Hall!

Let's just say the train journey was a visual experience. I must admit, I had a few stares from fellow passengers, but my secret weapon? Confidence darling! Nothing says "Don't mess with me!" more than a pink tutu and a knowing smirk. It’s like a forcefield against any negative vibes.

Now, the Surbiton stage…

Well, my darlings, let’s just say I took the place by storm! It's a small theatre, and the stage wasn't as grand as some of the ones I’m used to (we're talking tiny stage, more intimate, less 'ballroom', but that added a special energy).

My set? A whirlwind of classic hits (Think "I’m so excited" and "Vogue!" with a bit of Pink's "Get The Party Started"), some sparkling moves (I can't lie, those twirls and pirouettes require years of ballet training - thank goodness for years of ballet class and the Derbyshire Youth Theatre), and, of course, a few sassy quips about Surbiton’s hidden glamour.

You’ve got to give them what they want darling! I got them laughing, swaying, and shouting "More tutu!" by the end of my performance. And trust me, a big, resounding applause can only mean one thing – I’d hit it out of the park.

The real star of the show was actually the audience. You know what they say - “a queen can’t do it without the audience!” The Surbiton crowd was just... divine! I had ladies in fascinators, gents in bow ties, and even a few toddlers dressed as miniature princesses.

Of course, I couldn’t leave Surbiton without a little retail therapy.

And let’s be honest, what better place than the local vintage shop?.

Think delicate lace, frilly petticoats, and sparkling brooches. Oh darling, let’s just say I shopped ‘til I dropped!

I grabbed the perfect pink feather boa for my upcoming performance, a bejeweled hair comb for those extra special photos, and the most beautiful satin scarf - pink, naturally - to add a touch of glamour to my everyday wardrobe. The vintage shop lady had this wonderful look in her eye as she watched me leave - a blend of "this girl is something else" and "good luck to her!" ( I might’ve given her a little twirl and wink for good measure. Just a little extra magic, don't you know).

But Surbiton had even more to offer. Did you know that you can hire a real horse-drawn carriage there?! Oh yes! For a night on the town or, like me, simply because I'm queen and I deserve a bit of regal glamour, I took a short trip around the area.

Imagine – Me, Pink Tutu Sparkles, being whisked through the cobbled streets of Surbiton in a horse-drawn carriage. Let’s just say I made quite a splash. The horse (handsome, even!), looked a little shocked, but it’s all part of the performance! I told him, "We’re just a couple of ‘pink tutu’ champions" – the look on his face? Well, priceless.

The carriage was simply glorious – perfect for a magical evening out (the carriage ride is definitely on my "to do again" list)

Oh, and before I forget... Surbiton has an abundance of delicious tea rooms! So, naturally, I treated myself to some scrumptious scones, a pot of fragrant tea, and even a pink cake, all with a side of dazzling conversation about the theatre scene.

So, my lovelies, Surbiton wasn't just pink, it was extra in the most fabulous way. And guess what? I am coming back soon. You better believe it, I am adding it to my tour schedule!

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
