Oh, darling, you wouldn't believe the fabulous time I had in Cleethorpes this week! It was a whirlwind of sequins, giggles, and a few near-tumbles on the cobbles – what more could a girl ask for? 😉
It's funny how life throws you curveballs. This time, it was a phone call from the "Cleethorpes Seaside Spectacular" inviting yours truly to strut my stuff for their Christmas lights switch-on. Me? Performing in front of the good folks of Cleethorpes? Absolutely! My mission to get everyone in a pink tutu was officially spreading far and wide!
Now, I’ll admit, getting to Cleethorpes from Derbyshire wasn't quite as glamorous as being whisked away by a handsome prince on a white stallion. Sadly, the local stable was booked with carol singers (oh, the irony!). But a quick hop on the train with a giant pink bag filled with tulle and sequins was practically just as romantic, don’t you think?
Once I arrived, I was swept away by the vibrant spirit of the town. From the vintage arcades to the bustling seafront, the air crackled with a joyful energy that only a seaside town can provide.
Of course, my priority was to explore the local shops. And oh darling, the clothes! A real bargain hunt for a girl who likes her frills! I snagged a fluffy pink coat that would look divine paired with my signature tutu for the festive season – don’t even get me started on the fabulous new boots! I love a good bargain and I wasn’t going to let Cleethorpes down!
But, enough about the shopping, the big event was just around the corner!
That evening, it was show time. I felt the buzz in the air, the anticipation bubbling like a pot of simmering, sugary fudge.
Don’t even ask how many glitter bombs and feather boas went into my transformation… the answer is way too much, darling. 😉 Pink Tutu Sparkles emerged – shimmering and ready to unleash her infectious energy upon Cleethorpes!
I could feel the eyes on me as I shimmied down the cobblestone pathway. The audience, a blend of locals and tourists, was enthralled by my dance routines, inspired by years of ballet class and inspired by the breathtaking grace of the great ballerinas of the world! It's moments like these when I realize how my love for pink tutus has blossomed into something so much more - a chance to share joy, to celebrate creativity, to simply sparkle.
After the show, the cheers were deafening! There was such a feeling of goodwill in the air that I could have danced the night away! One little girl even approached me with shining eyes, clutching her pink teddy bear. "Are you a fairy princess?" she asked.
“Why darling, of course I am!,” I replied. And maybe for just that moment, I was. It’s magic like that that truly fills my heart with warmth. I left the stage with a smile so big, even the Grinch would be envious!
The Cleethorpes Seaside Spectacular was an experience I will never forget. The warmth of the community, the breathtaking beauty of the coastline, and the energy of a town full of festive cheer – it was a truly unforgettable journey for Pink Tutu Sparkles.
