Pink Tutu Sparkles Here!

Oh my darlings, it's been a while since my last post, hasn't it? The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of sequins and sass, whisking me off to glamorous adventures across the countryside. And this time, I'm thrilled to be taking you with me to Bournville! Yes, Bournville, the chocolate heaven itself. Can you even imagine how much chocolate I'm going to consume? 🍫 I’m almost afraid of what I'll look like by the end of the weekend. (Shudders. It will be amazing!).

Anyway, you lovely lot know how much I love to travel, and this trip has been particularly exciting. It's a double-header! A chance to see some phenomenal ballet at the Birmingham Hippodrome and to do a little performance myself, for a little charity fundraising for their Children’s Ballet Theatre!

But first, the journey. Oh, darling, the train journey! The joy of watching the world whiz by, the little old ladies sipping their tea, the cheeky lads messing about, and everyone crammed in, full of anticipation. You know what? It reminds me so much of the ballet – the sheer joy, the beautiful movement, and the stories unfolding right before your eyes.

It's like I said before, a journey by train or a journey by horse, each journey is like an adventure of the senses. As much as I love a plane (and I must say a private jet, especially!) it's always so lovely to watch the world unfold outside the window, especially the beauty of the British countryside. The rolling hills, the quaint little villages – and the endless possibilities of the future ahead!

As I've said before, this little Pink Tutu Sparkles knows, travel truly nourishes the soul. It opens up our eyes to new possibilities, exposes us to new cultures and expands our understanding of the world!

Now, about this ballet, the Birmingham Hippodrome – darling, they really know how to do it right! I have to admit I was feeling a little nervous beforehand – anything that says “Hippodrome” gives me a bit of a theatrical stage fright! But once I slipped into my pink tutu, felt that soft tulle against my skin and those sparkly diamantes catch the light, that anxiety went flying right out of the window (it always does, it's a secret I swear to everyone). I was Pink Tutu Sparkles, ready to unleash a whole new level of magic!

Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s not all sparkle and feather boas – there’s an awful lot of hard work that goes into the life of a drag queen, or indeed a ballet dancer. But when you're standing on stage in your dazzling costume, looking out over the audience who are simply mesmerized by the grace, the artistry, the beauty, oh my! You realize it's all worth it!

Talking of mesmerized – my performance! I mean, who could resist the enchanting power of a dazzling Pink Tutu? The energy in the room was electric! I saw so many little smiles and heard laughter – that’s what it’s all about!

My set was a little quirky – I had this vision, all pink and whimsical with a touch of naughty in the mix. Imagine: pink fairy lights draped all over the stage, some seriously sparkly feather boas, a giant pink feather duster that looked like it was from the moon and my sparkly custom-made pink tutu which was so voluminous, you could practically park a car inside it. It looked so dramatic, darling! It felt like my own personal rainbow of glitter and fun! And let’s not forget my song, a special piece just for Bournville, “A Tutu's Tale” with its sassy lyrics, telling the story of a little girl's dream of becoming a dancing star!

Now, it may come as a surprise, but the highlight of this whole trip was this: A young boy who sat in the front row. It turns out he'd never seen a drag queen perform before. Well, his jaw hit the floor, I swear, his eyes were as big as saucers as he watched the entire thing unfold. I could tell he was having a blast, it was honestly a truly beautiful thing to witness. Now, that's a true sense of reward. The way he looked at me, the way his little eyes lit up. I made a little friend, my Pink Tutu mission of making the world more colorful! That’s all the validation I need, honey.

You see, that’s what Pink Tutu Sparkles is all about - sharing the joy, spreading the love, and making everyone embrace the magic that’s already inside them.

I am not afraid to let you all in on a little secret, my love of the pink tutu began as just a bit of fun, at a charity fundraiser, all for the sake of the cause. And when I saw the sheer delight in everyone's eyes, I realised how special these sparkly masterpieces are, they make the world a much better place! Now, the magic that I want to share is spreading far and wide – so it makes me so happy that even the tiniest of hearts can feel that too.

So, there you have it, another wonderful adventure completed. As I write this, I'm already on my way to my next big, amazing adventure, where it’ll be more glittery and more wonderful, and all the Pink Tutu Sparkles you can handle. But, until next time, darlings! Don’t forget, every single one of you is beautiful! Stay true to yourselves and wear that pink tutu with pride!
