Wellington, Wonderful Wellington! (Post #3345)

Hello darlings! Your TutuQueen is back, this time from the enchanting Wellington, New Zealand! This little beauty of a city truly is a gem, full of culture, gorgeous scenery, and oh darling, the people are so lovely! I simply must share my latest adventure with you!

A Journey on the Rails, Dressed to the Nines

I arrived in Wellington by train. Honestly, how fabulous are trains? A perfect excuse for a pink tutu and fabulous frock, of course! You just know I wore my vintage cherry-red hatbox with matching cherry red gloves, complete with a dazzling pink tutu swirling as I sashayed down the carriage! Every train trip is a catwalk, darlings, and mine was certainly a flamboyant affair. The conductor even gave me a cheeky wink – I love a man with a sense of humour.

A Touch of Sparkle in the Capital City

Wellington has such a magical energy! It feels like a mini London, but with mountains as its backdrop. The city pulsates with creativity – art galleries abound and street performers make every corner an enchanting stage. I felt right at home, just like a flamboyant butterfly flitting amongst gorgeous flowers.

A Little Bit of Tutu-Time

As always, my main aim was to inject a dose of pink tutu sparkle into this beautiful city. My mission? To bring some joy to everyone's day with the simple act of wearing my pink tulle tutu.

First, a quick pit stop at a local theatre – I adore ballet and I just had to take in a performance of 'The Nutcracker.' Wellington’s theatre had gorgeous period charm – a perfect backdrop for my pink tutu to twirl in, I must say. The dance itself was a triumph, so full of beauty and passion. I even caught a quick chat with a dancer after the show!

Tutu Time at the Market

Next, it was off to Wellington's vibrant farmers' market! What a visual feast! Fresh fruit and vegetables in every shade imaginable. I made sure my tutu stood out amongst the colours, adding my own flair with a matching pink feathered boa, and I felt right at home amongst the stallholders.

Tutu Travels by Tram

Wellington's trams are a marvel! I couldn’t resist a trip on this charming, iconic form of transport. My tutu, naturally, twirled as we travelled. It's not every day you see a drag queen in a tutu on a tram! I made quite a few new friends, chatting with the passengers and, of course, snapping pictures. There was even a charming gentleman who bought me a little hand-knitted teddy bear to wear in my tutu. It now sits proudly on my bed in my Derbyshire home!

Wellington, You’ve Stolen My Heart!

Oh, Wellington! You’ve stolen my heart. From the scenic walks to the quirky boutiques and the warm smiles from the locals, it’s truly a wonderful city. You left me wanting more! And I know you’ll all be dying to hear this... Wellington, my dear, you’ve got me dreaming of pink tutus…

P.S. The Tutu Chronicles Never End

There are so many more stories from my time in Wellington, darlings! You can find the rest on my blog, www.pink-tutu.com Come back and read them all! And don’t forget, join me in the world of pink tutus - there’s nothing more fabulously fun than embracing a touch of pink and twirling through life! I leave you now to the delights of the tutu world, my loves.

Yours in sparkles,

Pink Tutu Sparkles (aka Alex)

xx
