Sutton in Ashfield: Tutu-ing Up the North! 🩰✨

Hiya darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the delightful town of Sutton in Ashfield, for post number 3499 of the pink-tutu.com adventures!

Today's been a whirlwind of glitz, glam and a whole lot of tulle! Let me tell you, Sutton in Ashfield was simply bursting with sunshine and energy - perfect for a fabulously fabulous Tutu Queen on tour.

I've been hopping from fair to fete, showcasing my signature style and spreading the pink-tutu gospel wherever I go. The locals here are a hoot, truly! I think my feather boa caught a few eyelashes and some curious little paws. Let's just say there were definitely a few "Ooh, la-la's" from the youngsters. They've clearly got great taste in sparkles.

The thing is, Sutton in Ashfield reminded me so much of Derbyshire, my humble abode. Same quaint charm, same warmth, just... maybe a touch more… um... rustic. But hey, I embrace it! It's all part of the charm of traveling across this beautiful land!

Before my first gig tonight (at the town hall, no less!), I absolutely had to hit up the local charity shop, darling! You know how I love a good bargain, and this one certainly didn't disappoint. A beautiful, antique-looking hat with some gorgeous plumes of feathers – think a flamingo crossed with a peacock, in a good way. Pecks lips with feather. Oh my, I've already got plans for the perfect pairing - I think I'll wear it for tomorrow's performance at the local school! It’s a benefit for a charity dedicated to teaching kids about science! giggles Speaking of science, I guess I'd be considered the resident "pink-tutu scientist", eh?

Of course, no journey would be complete without a good old-fashioned lunch! I opted for a lovely local deli with sandwiches piled high and enough potato salad to satisfy even the hungriest ballerina. The sandwiches were to die for! Especially the one with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Oh darling, let me tell you, they must’ve been hand-made! You could truly taste the love that went into them. And who knows? Maybe there's a touch of the Tutu Queen in me after all!

Later that afternoon, before the evening performance, I strolled around the local park. It was teeming with life! I found a secluded corner with a charming little gazebo and spent some time admiring the beauty of nature. Butterflies flitted about, a family was enjoying a picnic, and even the squirrels seemed to be in a particularly playful mood. It was truly magical.

You know, one of my favourite things about touring is encountering all these amazing individuals! I met the most charming elderly lady in the park - she told me she was a ballerina back in the day! We bonded over our shared love of tutus (although hers were a tad more... "classic" - haha!). She even shared a heartwarming anecdote about her favourite tutu! It was a blush pink confection she'd worn during her time with the Royal Ballet. How fabulous is that, darlings?

But let’s not forget about the performance tonight! I strutted onto that stage like a true pink-tutu warrior, in a majestic confection of tulle, sequins and feathers. The audience went wild. We danced, we twirled, we shimmied. Every heart in the room felt the joy of the Tutu Queen! I love watching their eyes widen in wonder - they all seemed to understand the power of pink tutus! After the performance, the entire crowd swarmed me. We danced, took selfies, and had a little impromptu after party in the town square. There's truly nothing like the magic of a performance, especially when you can make people laugh and smile!

After a tiring but completely exhilarating day, it’s time for a little beauty rest. But worry not, darlings, I’m back on the road again tomorrow!

Tomorrow's adventure? We’re off to Nottingham! My Tutu Queen senses tell me it's going to be fabulous, filled with delicious treats and inspiring performances! You know what they say... "The life of a Pink Tutu Queen is never dull!" And let's just say, the highlight will surely be the performance at a local pub! I’ve never performed in a pub before! They say the audience can be a bit "rough around the edges", but who’s afraid of a little rough-and-tumble, eh?

Until next time, darlings! Keep twirling! 💖✨

XOXO,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
